so I stopped playing swg since august. but I couldnt find a great mmorpg like swg so Im thinking about to turn back to swg. I just wanna know how is it now? any change with pvp war? I watched videos there were great battles with rebels vs imperials and I saw AT-AT in battle. so can you tell me
-how many people left in swg?(tell it with numbers before the update and after the update)
-how is the game now? what are the news about it?
-Is there alot of noob jedis?
-I was master ch and master rifleman but I learned that there are only 12 proff left. so what should I do?
please answer my questions.

Alot have left the game and i se emostly people staying cause they never had a chance to play Jedi before. There are new people but they quit after 2 weeks because they realise that the game is unifinished.
There are 9 professions altho entertainer and trader are useless atm. Also you might aswel say there are 2 professions:
- Jedi
- BH
The rest are pretty crap, theres not alot of different between proffession anyways.

In Answer to your questions,
1: SWG is dead, most servers are ghost towns with very few people. Apparently if the population reaches double figures then SOE consider that a nedium server load!
2: The game can best be described as Star Wars Battlefront Beta Online for the mentaly challenged. The news is the NGE sux and SOE don't know what to do.
3: "Alot" is a very relative term now. Since the servers are dead I'll say no there isn't alot of noob jedi now.
4: 12 prof? I'm afraid you're wrong there are 9 "iconic" professions now. 2 are crafter and trader which have been made defunct now (as you can loot better stuff for free easily). 1 is entertainer which has also been made defunct. Medic is now the uber pvper but useless for healing as heals aren't needed. Jedi is a crap melee prof that is a joke and the rest are ranged.
What should you do? Avoid this disaster of an MMORPG (it isn't the one you remember) try something else, I went to EVE but there are many good MMORPGs coming out with depth. I hope I helped.

Im thinking to be commander. I dont like jedis and bhs. When they started swg they said there wont be jedi. It would be a great game and you will be a simple man in the star wars saga. After that they added alot of new things. They changed combat style and they added jedis. after that ther were many stupid jedis in mop and everywhere. after that game was suxs so I stopped playing it. than they added new expansion pack and I havent played it.... I just wonder to know how is it.
Well apparently to one of the devs;
A new feature called heavy Weapons is being added to the game.
Apprently taking away a feature then adding it again counts as new content to the game.

I logged into SWG just today to see if all of the venom here on the boards was valid. It took me 15 minutes to figure out how to move around (mind you I am a little slow). What the hell. Who told them that being able to move with the mouse was bad? Personally I thought that the WASD crap was left with the dungeon hack UNIX games.
I was never really bothered by anything in the game, it just lacked content and got boring. I have come back 4 times, but if what they have done with the interface is any indication of the rest of the game you will have more fun reading a math book. I even thought maybe the old movement template would be saved so you could just select it. Hmm - guess not.
After only a few minutes back in game I now see what all of the complaints are about. You can't just change a game without asking the players if they want it changed. Well you can but...

Dude, what kind of question is this? Don't you read whats being said about this crappy game? Have you not seen all the constant complaints being written all over the place?
I'm not flaming you but all the questions you're asking sound very dumb.
As far as the video battles you've seen. It's all a marketing strategy nothing else. I too have seen those battles, the space batttles for one look great. Yet its nothing like that inside the game. The servers are practically empty so don't expect to see whats on those vids.
You asked whats the news on the game. Once again I ask, haven't you been reading what the fanbase is saying? SWG is a has been as far as games go. SOE lost all respect as well as subsribers. The only ones still playing are people who either never experience the way it once was or people who are gluttons for punishment. Since thats all soe does on a regular basis punish by lying and disrespecting the paying public. Taking them for fools and idiots constantly. We saw all that and its why we left.

I havent read any news about swg. I stopped playing it in summer than I heard everybody stopped playing it. It became a stupid game everybody said and I didnt know anything more about these. So I asked these

Words can't fully encompass how bad things have become and the detrioration continues apace.
Any change with PvP war?
War? There's not enough people left for a war. You can duel if you want but that's completely changed too.
How many are left?
Estimates are between 75 and 90 % of the vets have gone or waiting for their pre-paid accounts to expire. Most of the vets staying don't like the changes either. SOE got a small brief increase in the rate of new accounts but still not sustainable even if the rate of departure returns to normal. Given that the excuse for doing the CU and NGE was new accounts were too far below departures already that speaks volumes. Bottom line, at most 50k people left and falling.
How is the game now? What is the news?

Yes and no. Not a lot of players period but a lot large percentage wise are Jedi.
So what should I do?
Find another game while you wait with the rest of us for SWG2 in a couple years.

yeah I played it today. And I saw it wasnt as crowded as last time I had seen it. I choose commando. There are great grenade skills and new weapons with mustafar expansion pack. And I create a new character in european chimera server. I played tutorial and it was the best tutorial I have ever seen
they worked on it alot. And my old lvl 80 character in eclipse server is great. But there is a problem with the commando weapons. They said they are gonna improve the efects of the weapons so I cant use them now. Does any of you know when it is gonna be fixed?
Finally the game actually is not as everybody said. The new combat system is very fast only. And its more fun now. But the bad thing is why did they took all proffesions and left 9 proffession ?!?!?!?!?!?
All Heavy Weapons (ie, commando weapons) will be re-enabled with pub 27 which *should* be sometime this month.
As I said earlier up, everybody has a different idea of fun. Just because some here don't find the game fun anymore doesn't mean you won't
My theory is, if it's fun play it, if it's not then don't /shrug
Imagine Star Wars Republic Commando, only without the smooth gameplay, and bug-free execution. Add a horribly bumbling UI, and a development team that refuses to cater to it's playerbase.

Now imagine you bought SWG1, and installed it on your PC, and SOE picked the lock on your front door, snuck in, and erased SWG1 off your hard drive, and put SWG2 in it's place, and snuck back out of your house. When you complained to them, they told you "It' funner, trust us". But you play it, and you learn a horrible lesson in frustration. You tell them it's not anywhere near as fun as it used to be, but they tell you "we don't care, we want new players for the money".
I'd think very carefully before going back to SWG, because it's a different game. You can't blend a combat class and a crafting class anymore. That royally sucks, cause my toon made all his own food, and junk. Not anymore. I got tons of foodstuff ingredients, but my new NGE Smuggler class can't use any of it, I spent alot of effort to farm materials, paying millions of credits to maintain my harvesters. Now the only thing I can do with my toon is shoot stuff. it's his only skill. It gets boring fast.
does any of you know the statics about that stupid upgrade? HOW many people waas playling it? and after the upgrade how many is still playing? can anyone tell me it with number?
