The Transverse team is off to a good start since announcing its KickStarter initiative only a few days ago. A new video developer diary has been released that explains how player progression will function in the game.

Don't not trust these developers, do not give them any money.
Learns from the mistakes of mechwarrior fans that gave them millions only to be constantly lied to and have their money diverted to other projects.
errm.. Kickstarter initiative? Guess you mean crowdfunding campaign, as they are using their own game site, not Kickstarter.
but anyway this game could be very cool I love the player economy sandbox concept
I'm a MechWarrior fan and this person does not speak for me or for all of the mechwarrior fans.
I enjoy playing mechwarrior online. I'm not scammed nore feel like I was conned. My money was well spent with PGI. I got what I payed for in a mechwarrior game that I can play to have fun in with my friends.
PGI will make their games one way or another. They are game developers.
PGI no longer has a game publisher helping because the publisher didn't see eye to eye on what the community wants like PGI does.
There's much more to the story of mechwarrior online and PGI but they're still game developer's that have made a game that people can play and enjoy. Even though they made mistakes that some have forgiven them and some have not. MechWarrior Online exists and it's always being improved upon by PGI.
Transverse is another game that could turn out to be something great or something that sucks but that is an opinion that individuals come up with.
Unlike this person, I'm not going to tell you what to do with your money.
PGI have had a reputation of breaking promises and ignoring deadlines - Community Warfare is now more than 2 years delayed - and no words as to why. Just now they have shared some initial rough designnotes on it. It was promised that there would be no 3rd person camera, now there is.. so check their history.
They also have an extremely aggressive Community manager that bans left and right.
So IF you want to back transverse - please do a little research into what company you are betting your money on.

You have to create an forum account and login to see it though as they tried to hide it from public view. Maybe 3 people on that thread share your view, hundreds, maybe a thousand original backers of mechwarrior back mine.
The spin put out by the development company is so misleading and the forum moderation is so extreme, they'll even ban you for speaking badly of them on facebook, that reddit acually banned all of their staff from moderating about the new game on reddit.
Also I'm not telling people what to do with their money, I just believe money doesn't grow on trees and most people would like to make an informed decision when spending it. The information is there it's entirely their choice if they want to waste their money.
Maybe you'd be better spending your time putting an upvote on the video in the original post if you like the dev company, it seems plenty of mechwarrior fans have already voted.

Game looks cool, gameplay concept sounds exciting..
And the multiplayer sandbox concept sounds a LOT better than the one of Star Citizen and the several Star Citizen clones popping up.
I've been a viewer here for ages and joined in June. I only found out about this game recently when someone in my multi-gaming guild posted about it on our forums, and I did a little reading. It sounded appealing. Then I did a lot of reading - things that a lot of unhappy people had written.
And that's why this was the first time I've felt motivated enough to post here.
If anyone reads the first post, then clicks on the links I posted above, they may understand why. They can't both be right. It looks like a disasterous start to me, with unhappy punters, censored forums, an unrealistic funding goal with little to no chance of success, and complaints galore from people who should be disposed to like the game.
Yup, I'm a relative newcomer to registering here. That doesn't devalue my opinion or tell you anything about my gaming pedigree. I've been a gamer since the late 70s. That doesn't make me an expert but, as you are, I'm entitled to my view. I've expressed it and backed up why I hold it.
I'd welcome your thoughts on the issues raised in the links / the bit underlined above.
If you've read what I've read, all the complaints, and seen the lack of public support, I'm curious as to why you'd want to pledge still?
It may look cool and sound exciting - but what about all the issues above?

They be naive if they think they can gather again money from crowdfunding and especially the Wing Commander niche is settled with Star Citizen (PGI has the Wing Commander Licence).

This right here is my problem with PGI. They have shown no gameplay, and the concept they talked about from MWO never arrived, even after 2 years.
No gameplay, don't believe the concept talk.
Stupids never learn...PGI does not have a Wing Commander Licence!
