Good Early Review of the game on a broad level

I feel the same way as this reviewer...game is open and there are some really cool things to explore.  Although P2W, it's not Runes of Magic P2W meaning that you won't be handcuffed if you dont pay (non-subs excluded, but that's to be expected).  I'm playing and keeping an open mind...not a fan of the LP system, but have turned it into my own little "Meta-game" inside the game.  Have had 0 use for the cash shop and feel that I can explore and have my fun without it.  Will I be as "Win" as others, no, but I wouldn't be anyway seeing as Im a filthy casual and will probably seek to play a new game in about a month :P

    hmm, its was a little confuse about hes definition of p2w.

    So by hes definition in the end AA is not p2w because all players can get everthing from game without spending real Money, just need to buy the stuff from other players with in-game currency, even the patron status.

    Was a confuse article/opinion but they are all when we put things like p2w in discuss.

     

    Anyway, atm AA is P2Wait.

    Nah, what I got from it is that yes you can P2Win, but it's not at all necessary to enjoy the game without restriction...you just wont be "king of the hill" or jungle for that matter

    but if you read his other diary threads on Archage, they are really good as well...especially the one about him doing a trade route across the ocean

    Well, he does say IT IS P2W but he doesn't care. Well, I care. I don't want to have to spend tons of money in game just to be competitive and that is P2W.

    Or you could join a good helpful guild!

    A free to play player can still get to lvl 50 within 4-5 days going through quest hubs at the same rate as a sub payer. If you ignore the damn queuing that is...

    Well, if you need to spend tons of Money to be competitive, you take the right decision not to play it.

    That's kinda what he eluded to in the article...it is P2W, but depending on how competitive you are with PVP and stuff, it's not game-breaking.  That's how I feel...I'm playing FTP and not subbing...just gonna get what I can from it...have a blast with the boats and the water so I figure Ill mess with that part of the game.  

    Im not competitve by any stretch of the imagination so I dont care if I get owned in PVP...Im either gonna run or die trying :P

    I HATE the LP system, but I'm making the best of it...I get to play the game for free so I have no right to complain.

    its P2 win quicker is all.

    there is nothing you cant acquire in game that is available in shop... sure it might take you alot longer but its not necessary.

    skill goes along way in this game, as does HAVING A GOOD GUILD...

    They seem to be pretty fanatically devoted to Archage over there at Massively.  It's good to have advocates who are enjoying something, but I'm honestly very surprised to see them so aggressively minimizing launch issues in the way that they are.  They definitely don't take that approach for every game.

    Massively is like that with all games...they wont harp on a bad game or say it stinks...they even say they don't do reviews...just diaries.  Massively is my favorite place for gaming news cuz I know they cover EVERYTHING...this is just my favorite place to congregate.

    You may have to spend tons of money to be competitive but nobody else seems to have this need
