Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
Wouldn't it make more sense to take all the resources they're devoting toward kicking people out of the game and divert them toward letting more people in?
Don't these dev's pay any attention to other games.... I mean ffxiv had the exact same problem 1 year ago. They ended up having to kick people from being afk and worked very hard to alow more people to get on. Took them like 4 months to make logins smooth. Lets see how long it takes AA to do the same....
Isn't it funny how companies don't learn from other's past mistakes.
There are ways around idle kickers, but imaginative Devs should come up with a better alternative then have all the computer resources tied up to idlers. What a waste of money and image to new people.

It is stunning to me to see games being released missing AFK timers at login screens, no effective gold spam filters etc. And this game has been out in Korea for what, almost 2 years? Does no one even play this game over there?

You could simply move to one of the new servers as I have. They are far less populated. I never have to wait more than a few minutes even in the evening.
LOL again I say, memories of FF14's launch anyone.
This launch is making FFXIV's look pro.
Yup, it is.
I have no idea how Trion managed to f*ck this up so badly. It's not their first rodeo after all. It's rapidly degenerating into the worst launch of the decade.
In a "normal themepark", these problems would have been frustrating, but with AA's game design these problems are MASSIVE game breakers.

They aren't manually kicking people from the screen as they can not even see who is at the character select screen atm. They are however manually kicking afk players in the game. People just auto running into the wall or running in circles or jumping in one spot while afk.
They are working on a system to auto kick players that idle on the character selection screen. Something along the lines of 10 mins from getting out of the queue to make it into the game or get dropped completely and have to relog.
That combined along with the more agressive auto afk kick system that is being tuned up to be more agressive *should* help get the afk players out of the game and systems faster and let real players that are active get in and play.
But the real solution is they are just going to have to add more servers. The software is really starting to reach its upper limits as far as load per server. ITs a very fine line they are walking and if they let too many people onto a server its going to adversely effect everyone on the server via lag, crashs, ect.

It does beg the question.
They ought to take lessons for the local Parks and Rec Dept. and the public pools.
"Alright everyone, kids out of the pool, time for adult swim" And give time for Patrons to get in the game.

I thought the same shit, when they first mentioned getting labor points for every 5-10 mins logged in....
