Help on which mmorpg i should get.

in Final Fantasy XI
Ok hi everyone but im seriously in a desperatly mode for mmorpg games. I've been waiting like years and years for WOW and EQ2 and other good mmorpg games. But since i cant wait any longer which mmorpg games should i get? Even though this a FFXI board but this game im kind of considering to get.

My strongest move is called the Hiten Misturugi Ryu technique. No move is faster or stronger than it. (Hitokiri Battousai)

    People can't really say which out of them all because at least four are not out yet (I don't know if Shadowbane is or not).

    out of all those u chose ide have to say FFXI kuz u know ur in the FFXI forums and all plus most of those games u listed arnt n e good sept ffxi (check all of their reviews for more info on them)

    Id say world of warcraft more people are saying final fantasy because your in the final fantasy forums go to general disscusion then pub and ask there

    Final fantasy has good graphics, missions and quest but I do not like the interface or how hard it is to lvl compared to other games. If you like pvp you should try shadowbane, in a month I had 3 characters around lvl 50 and there was not much to do but kill people or you could try to build a city. I personally am waiting for horizons until lineage2, eq2, wow or mythica comes out.

    I like FFXI because you can't get maxed out in a month and a half. It keeps the game interesting and there is always something new to discover and do. There will be PvP soon, so that should be very interesting.

    I agree the problem with alot of mmorpgs is that you can level up fast then there is a lack of high end content. FFXI seems to have both a leveling treadmill which is long and fun, and alot of content and quests. PvP will top the game off as unlike other games imo it doesnt have to rely on PvP to give its players something to do.

    i totally agree, pvp in most games is gay because you need to fine tune your many hundreds of various stats to be perfect. e.g Neocron ; it had  a "resists" skill and you had to get it just right or you would be owned in pvp. Luckily, FFXI is a much simpler, so it would depend on fun battles with magic and summons etc. Thats the kid of pvp i like, and i have only seen simple pvp in crappy games like runescape. go pvp!!

    Metallica is good.
    Matrix online will be super.
    I hope Final Fantasy XI will be good - after all, i have ordered it.

    Maybe choose for yourself? You're on a FFXI forum...I'd think that would bias your poll a bit. . .

    I can only talk about Final Fantasy XI but I can tell you that it's great. This is my first MMORPG and I wanted something that would both be fun and wouldn't get overwhelmed like I think I would in EverQuest. I've been very happy with my choice.

    It depends on your play-style, really.

     

    If you like PvP, then Shadowbane is the game for you, hands down.  The graphics aren't great, but the system is interesting and building cities and destorying enemies is fun.

    If you like raids, items and all of that...  Then EQ2 is probably your game.  From what I understand, the sequel will be radically different from the original, but you know Verant...  they know what EQ fans like.

    WoW won't be out for another billion years.  It looks like a decent game, but you might be in a nursing home by the time it comes out.

    Horizons, I've heard, will be a lot like DAoC.  Beta testers I've talked to say it's not that great, but I am going to give it a fair shot.  It looks good to me, but the proof is in the gameplay.

    Naturally, I'm playing FFXI right now and I love it.  It has a lot more depth than people think- it's job system, the conquest system, the crafting system...  It's all perfect.  Mounts, player housing...  An excellent game.  You'd be cheating yourself if you didn't at least try it.

    Matrix Online, if anything like the last two movies, probably won't be any good.  Sorry, but the franchise has lost a lot of credibility since Reloaded and Revolutions.

    There are a LOT of MMORPGs coming out, and soon.  In my opinion, the cream of the crop seems to be EQ2, WoW, City of Heroes, Middle Earth Online, Horizons, and FFXI of course.

    FFXI or Lineage 2, both are excellent games and out now or soon.  Horizons is kind of a mystery right now, some great ideas but many beta testers are not happy with the game.  Hopefully we will learn more soon.

    EQ2 and WoW are both a long way from coming out and you wont be seeing either for 6 months to a year or more from now.

    I didn't vote because I am a bit biased.  I am really enjoying FFXI, but Lineage II also looks like a good bet.  Horizons looks interesting but I dont know much about it.

    Shadowbane has been panned so much it’s a no-no.

    Until I get FFXI I recommend AC2 fab graphics, great free trail. But if you can get FFXI now play it!

    Lol just kind of hit me that i was on ffXI but mostly I think im going to get this game.  I haven't played a Final Fantasy but im good at rpgs like Golden Sun and Golden Sun Lost Age and i beat both.  I also played a final fantasy demo and it was fun and also i read alot of this game and it has most things i want to have in a mmorpg and alot of classes. So going to get this game tommorow on friday. Thanks for the help.

    Seems like your interested in japanese Mangas and stuff like that, so the only game with the Asiatouch would be FF11 or Linage 2

    Not hardly......*rolls eyes* they are shooting for a realease around x-mas the lastest would be 1st quarter

    I'd be tempted to go to Final Fantasy online because I am such a big fan of the series, but I just wouldn't want to be let down...I loved Star Wars and SWG turned out to be a crock of shit.  As for EQ2 I am turning my head..No more SOE products, granted much of the crap with SWG is LucasArts fault...buuut it has tainted SOE's name for me forever.
