  I just started the java app and its prettyneat! but is there any way I can lower the graphics? my comp lags a bit.

  found graphics options nvm.

  EDIT: with all the graphics on crap setting it STILL lags for me...Everquest 1 and tons of other mmo's like Guildwars with much better grahpics run absolutelly fine on my laptop though..this game is suckage only because of the horrible framerate..I would enjoy it I had a better comp, but for now uninstalling.

  This is a fantastic game. It runs at a framerate of about 10 to 30fps on my computer, armed with an AMD 64 bit 3400+ processor, 1 gig memory, and ATI Radeon 9800XT 256mb video card.

  Now that I am done giving some info on the kind of framerate to be expected at max settings comparitively, onto the description of the game!

  This is first and foremost a fantasy simulator. Survival in this game is very hard, so it is absolutely required to find a community to depend on or you will not survive in this game. Some ideas are simply to look around in game and ask to see if anyone can help you, however this is a very good way to starve to death and die alone and lost out in the wilderness. I would suggest doing a google search for any existing communities or guilds before doing anything, then have a person from that community guide you to their settlement from the start point. This way you do not get lost, because there are no maps of the gameworld.

  Alright, so you've found a community. Now you need to find a job! There is so much to do, but the easiest jobs to start out with until you learn the basics are: Digging, Paving Roads, Mining for Rock Shards, or Lumberjacking. There are a few more, but usually these tend to be the most standalone skillsets where you start with everything that is needed. If you have assistance you can try for more difficult jobs like cooking, building houses, building walls (wood/stone).

  As far as combat goes, its pretty difficult to practice unless you can find a training dummy.

  Anyways the game really branches out from there. Everything in this game is player built. There are kingdoms aligned with certain gods, and there are tons of things yet to be seen the farther out you journey from the starting point.

  From my own experience, travelling is by itself an entertainment. As well as it should, since to get to my guild's city, you have to travel about 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours from the start point to reach it. It takes a bit longer with a guide.

  Give this game a shot if you can find a decent framerate over 8fps. The difficulty really adds to how rewarding everything you succeed at is. And the graphics are actually very nice maxxed out.

  Great game... but what ruined it for me is HEAVY GM Favoritism!!!

  SO bad that when I stopped a thief from stealing from me, he called his GM pal to come kill me.. and then bragged about it

  Im sure its a pretty nice game,  problem is I never got it to work.

   

  Im pretty sure this game would have many more players if they acctually could play the game !

   

  Shame really,  I would like to give it a try.
