In queue 1pm - 1am, no chance

time007time007 Member UncommonPosts: 1,062

I tried to log in at 1pm and got past the queue at 4pm but got disconnected around 1000 ppl left.  Relogged again, and put in queue again at 4pm.  Just got in almost at 1am but got disconnected before I could log in.  And I'm a patron.

Well, I wonder if they could increase the server size to allow more people in?  I'm not joining a new server cuz my guild is on Ollo and both my farms are there!

I hope this gets fixed soon!!!!  If I didn't like the as much as I do, i'd be pissed, that or since I didn't like the game very much i'd wait it out for a week or two and try again later.  So love it or hate it, I guess I'll have to wait it out eitherway hahah.

I guess I got lucky in which server I chose, at 12 am my wait was under 20 mins.

Here's how my gaming Saturday went.

7:00AM woke up nice and early foolishly thinking the queue to get into AA wouldn't be bad

7:10AM Let dogs out made a coffee booted up my potato computer and loaded up AA!

7:15AM Got into the queue. Status at around 1800.

    * went and did stuff.. breakfast house work etc. *

10:00AM still in queue all is well ! happy looking forward to AA Status at around 900

10:30AM came back to check the queue. "Connection has been lost"

    10:31AM back into the queue. 3760 .

...... Went and did day stuff ...

6:27PM Still waiting. 240 in queue and 21 mins to go

6:30PM Terrified to check the queue for fear it will disconnect!

I'm not losing any sleep over it. I just want to play. I love the game

Hope you guys had better luck getting in than me!

I think if anything, the volume of the queues is a fair indication of just how many people actually chose to pay for a subscription to the game, as they would have priority on login over those who chose the F2P route, eventually it will probably settle down, except for perhaps the most popular servers where the F2P players might find themselves unable to log in on a regular basis. I think that factor, along with the improvements of the afk boots, and the offline LP regeneration, will encourage more players to choose the P2P option of the game over the F2P one. Perhaps for that reason also, not having servers brought online to just cater to the F2P players who can't log in, might just be a really good business decision.image

Patron only server? With server transfers like how Rift does their shard transfers. Free once a week.

As a f2p player, I'm actually setting an alarm every 40mins to go move my character around when I'm not playing but at home, even when sleeping i get up every 40mins. For two reasons, first, no Labor Points while offline which made the first twenty levels on my first character unbareable. Since I couldn't even craft the quest armor before SM since I didn't have enough LP. Second, as a f2p player. I have 5+ hours of que time to look forward to if I log out.

Until Trion removes the que priority to make it equal, and also allows for a small amount of labor point generation while offline to f2p players. You're going to continue to see this long que issue. As f2p players are going to do everything possible to not log off for as long as possible. With this happening, even with ques, the servers are occasionally "dumping" players in order to make room for people who are in que. Which then leads to pissed off people who, even with patron and reconnect priority. Are getting a que to get back in.

I do admit, Trion does need more servers, as their estimates for player population were sorely lacking. But until they add more servers. They need to remove que priority and/or at least add labor generation to f2p players until they do get more servers. Hell, my friend had to wait seven hours to log into his server to delete a character. Just so he could que on the new server and wait another four hours to start a new character. And he's a Patron! XD

I personally think that they should kick the F2P player who is online for the longest time when a patron wants to log in and there's no room.

Then the solution is simple... if you want in faster, pay. If you want to be sure to stay in game when you want to... pay. Yeah, paying for a service, a concept that gets lost in this generation.

Agreed, personally i just wish every mmorpg was simply subscription again and regular content delivered and no cash shops.

I definitely didn't forget that, making my previous post even more relevant.

Trion totally failed to deliver what was promised to Patrons, aka paying customers. They apparently fixed the patron queue issue, but the F2P leeches who are already logged (and often are using macros to stay in) are still blocking paying customers from playing the game.

Online gaming must be the only place where such things are "tolerated". Imagine, you go to the baker, there's a lot of people so you have to wait, and some guys are just not only getting bread before you but they get it for free, while you wait a long time and then have to pay, if there's any bread left that is. Any person with a "normal" intelligence would be utterly pissed, and rightfully so. But for online gaming companies, its an acceptable behavior.

Personally, I wouldn't give a shit about F2P leeches as long as I get priority for everything, including booting one from the server if I want to log in as a paying customer and he didn't pay a cent. Just like the baker, if some guy gets leftovers for free once everyone bought their bread, well, I don't care.

Your thinking is shallow and emotionally biased. I'm a f2p player, but I've spent $25 so far in the cash shop on items. If you've only paid $15 as a patron, then by your reasoning I should get more priority than you or anyone else that's a Patron without a founders pack, since I've paid more. Your feeling of entitlement just because you decided to pay the $15 patron fee doesn't make you more important than f2p players who can still spend money on the game. I don't have Patron because my obligations sometimes make it so I can't play for several days at a time or longer with little warning. In which a subscription would be wasted. That does not mean I don't spend money on the game. Any f2p player which wishes to accomplish something in this game will end up spending money on it for cash shop items such as labor potions. Since currently the best way to make in-game gold is to sell materials for crafting. Since even patron players are lacking in materials to level their crafting and are looking to level and make new gear a.s.a.p.

So, while I can understand that you're biased towards those who don't pay a monthly sub. Please don't generalize the entire f2p community with your indignant slandering of payment model preference. Trion made this f2p for a reason. Because it's been proven in two other regions to be profitable under that model.

I'm going to give this game a try in a few months. If I like it, I'll become a subscriber. This idiocy of "I pay, so I should get priority" is tue entitlement thought process personified.  You already get a ton more perks that F2P toons don't.  Now, you want to be able to boot people offline, too? Let me give you another example. We'll use the bakery again. Say I wait in line like everyone else,  but I would like a sample of the bread before I decide to buy it. Do you get to push your way past me in line because you know whag you want already? No. Grow up and realize that the world doesn't owe you anything, and despite your patronage, you're no more a special snowflake than I am. This is, of course,  ignoring the fact that cash shop players often pay more than the 15 bucks you do a month.
  • kitaradkitarad Member LegendaryPosts: 8,178

It would be wonderful if they could actually check each f2p player to see if they spent any money and boot them accordingly. In any case people who are staying on AFK and using macros and such to stay on should get booted and even suspended from the game but we all know these are just pipe dreams .

This is not a question of entitlement at all it is what patrons paid for. Priority is that not one of the perks so why should they not get what they were promised.

Here's an idea, they could charge non patrons to log in, like a bus token and then ask every hour for them to deposit more money if they wish to keep playing.

+ 10 you finally hit the nail on the head .....or at the very least patron only servers for the first 6 months

  • george99george99 Member UncommonPosts: 78

Seems one solution to the long queue would be to put a cap (1-2 hours) on the length of time non-patrons can play before having to log in again and re-queue. This would then speed more people through the queues until they get things a little more ironed out. The AFK macros would then be a lot less effective.

They did add 2 new servers I believe so if people (probably non patrons again) would move to those servers the queue times would balance out much better. Especially for the oldest servers. My personal experience has been fine, I'm a patron and longest queue is about 5 minutes.

Well said that was my point in mentioning it being F2P.  If a college kid Joe Snuffy wants to play for a weekend because he has the time and want to sink $50 in the game. that's his choice and Trion made $35 more than off a Patron.
