Another wonderful day

time007time007 Member UncommonPosts: 1,062

Well, I logged on at noon and fought to get in-game and I'm 1121 in queue on 7pm.  I've been disconnected, had the looping cinematic thing happen, etc.

I was a sort of fanboy for this game too! haha, my patience is being tested.

And yes I'm a patron!!

I've played lots of MMO launches and this has been the 2nd worst!  Shadowbane was the worst.  This game is much better than Shadowbane of course haha.  But the recent launches I was in, ESO, FFXIV ARR, GW2, list goes on.  I've seen people complain but as a fellow gamer, I did not have the same issues, and those issues were fixed after a week.

I get the concept behind keeping the servers small but this really sucks.  Just gotta grin and bear it I guess for another week until people start quitting and the queues get better.  Funny how this game is counting on people quitting so they don't have to do a big server merge like most games do when their servers become empty.  I mean its happened in GW2 and ESO more recently.  haha.

This is now your second thread on the same subject.

    http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/6466521#6466521

Re-roll to another server. The other servers have NO queue for patrons and f2p players were getting in after 45 mins all day yesterday.

If your guild decided to roll on the most populated server and they decided NOT to transfer together, then obviously they care more about personal assets then the good of the guild. Lots of major guilds moved off Ollos onto the new server and are playing just fine.

Have my spot. I'm not playing that crap.

Good to know some gamers still have standards. I managed to play it a few hours before vomiting in my mouth.

So in other words you played a minute or two of the tutorial and then decided to uninstall? Level two comes after finishing the first quest around fifty yards from the start point and no way did you see a world boss anywhere in that area.

Sounds pretty simple to just reroll on new server. But limited to only two characters across all servers. And if you have bought patron status, all rewards are only allowed on those two characters.

And only to what, wait a few more days till the new servers are full and go threw the same thing again?

No, Trion needs to do something now about the gold sellers/farmers. The afkers and afk botters. Adding servers is just a temp fix for those just joining the game.

Rewards are allowed on the first 6 characters you create, not 2. New server has been going strong for days, still no queue.

Every game has gold farmers, sellers, bots. It's part of the mmo game. GW2, L2, wow, etc etc. Doesn't mean I like it, but I wont go around beating a dead horse on forums for attention. If they resolve it good, if not, I'll move on.

I played beta for about 2 hours, it seemed like a bad version of wow, does it get better?

Either people don't know or just don't care to read the details before the game actually got released, but yes its a themepark till 30 then it turns into more of a sandbox gank fest.

From one fanboy to another, I love how some people can make the victim/customer feel like "well your SOL deal with it" or "buyer beware".  We shouldn't live in a buy beware society or "well pick up and move because the company who is providing you a service/good is doing a crap job"

This is exactly what you SHOULD NOT do.  Trust me, I've been in society all these decades taking these types of cases and making companies improve NOT the opposite which is, your the little guy deal with it and move on.

But I love how some guys can take turn a situation where you received a crap product or service and just blanket statement say "life gives you lemons make lemonade"  I guess in this case its, life gives you a monster 12 hour queue don't wait for the company to improve, move your 400 man guild to another server"

Actually only some of the rewards. Your First character created is the only one that gets the whole package.

bro, its hard to even get in, BUT you should give this game a go until level 30ish at least.  that's where the game gets good.  its free too man so you don't have to pay any money to play for 1-2 months.

im hanging in there past all this queue crap for sure but it sucks.  but when and if you get ingame, give it another try all the way to level 30-40ish.

Correct me if I am wrong but don't ESO and GW2 both adopt the mega-server architecture and thus would never actually require any sort of server merge? As such, I am not quite sure where you're going with that last comment; or is it more in regards to them counting on people to quit for things for stabilize and grow over time?

AA is the first mmo title I have wanted to play, but where I have NOT prepurchased because of my growing disdain for the AA mmo releases. Im glad I have finally learned my lesson. - In my opinion its one everyone needs to learn. There is no reason to preorder, or purchase games that are steadily released with more and more issues. Just dont give them your money untill you feel relatively certain the product lives up to your expectations.

What the industry needs is a roadblock to the typical money grab, low rentention rate recipe of the last 8-9 years. We want them to go back to properly testing, where one does not purchase a beta spot, but where one actually test the games for free. And where the developers dont release the games untill they are truely as ready as they can get. As long as we keep giving them money, the current model will prevail. And you really shouldnt be pointing your fingers at these companies. You should be looking to your own choices, as you are only encouraging their method.

I grinded it to 2. I did pick up the quest and I couldn't hit "escape" fast enough when I saw the cutscene voiceover.

It took 4 or 5 of those little red things that are planted right in fron of the questgiver with a certain "swing here to win" design thought in mind.

Well that is a new low.   Almost like saying, "I installed the game but it took too long, so I uninstalled that piece of crap" !!!

That makes you about as relevant as Willie Wonka in a Gumball factory.

Pretty sad that that you can make judgements about a game a game without even trying it.   But, you have plenty of company on these forums I guess.

    1. stop sitting in the lane that are backed up for miles

    2. get in the fast lane

    3. iv been playing SB since launch it didnt have a bad launch and its by far NOT the worst launch ..not even close

ppl try so hard to burn titles down nowa days before they even get started "omg theres no one even playing this game is dead!" to "omg this game is stupid theres too many people playing GAH! " whats next? "omg this is dumb you need a interwebz connection to play!"

i have had NO wait time at all...ever..and the server is / feels / looks dam near full at all hours of the day

then chat is constantly bombarded with problems that invole peoples crappy PC's and possible shotty interweb connections..this is just one of the many games that is inline to get flamed on until the next flavor comes out..then we can do this all over again

He's pretty much the most bitter person on this site, from what I've seen. If an ability causes more than a small effect or animation, it's 'too flashy'. If a game even explains what button to push for anything, or has anything but plain text to describe a quest, it's 'dumbed down'. If the game has anything other than full-loot, 24/7 involuntary PvP, it's 'not hardcore enough'.

He's basically somebody who hasn't yet figured out that he simply just doesn't like the MMO genre, never really did, and probably never will. Best just to ignore him and move on, IMO.

AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

10 places per minute is pretty good tbh, well at least reasonable. Even DCUO/Rift had around that queue time, even though Rift had a good bit of servers open at launch. I still think if they just made 1-2 patron only servers, it would be a bit better.
