And here in lies the problem with adding more servers to accommodate the queues, you need people to fill the servers. Once the rush of people quit playing as it happens in all games, they will be forced to merge servers. Merging this type of games servers will cause unknown problems with owned land.

Simply put, people will lose their land if there is a merger. No way around it... not to mention names.

mabe they should change the name of the game to " Queueage "

if your in a queue for more than  30 min then the game not worth it  your not paying for a queue time   its not golf

and no i'm not playing the game  paying X  per month to craft   while the game says its a free to play  is a joke +  who would want to  play a game if your gaming hrs are spent in a queue  just to log in

well  back i go to Everquest 2

    moo all

If the server that low that is has to merge, should be plenty of land available.  As to names, my guess the active accounts names would have precedence.

After playing the Korean version, I knew this game would be over hyped.  Trion is getting major mud on their face because they did not anticipate how that major hype would affect the game.  Trion has fallen off their perch and merged with all the other f2p publishers.  Way to destroy a reputation in badly designed release.

You know they should not have allowed the f2p players in just yet. They should have let the patrons play then allowed the f2p players in later. They are the ones causing these queues.

Queues aside, I fail to see anything interesting about the game after playing a bit.

Yes, on paper it all sounds fine and dandy, but the in game experience is just not interesting at all. Animations aren't particularly major, abilities are bland been-there-done-that effects and the world seems fairly static.

I'm sure the game opens up more in the later levels (I hear 30 is the magic number) but it shouldn't be a boring, bland experience up till that point.

Irony that I don't like the game :)

Obviously server just got live. Same here with NA Lucius ... returned after few hours ... eternal queue.

So they create the LP system which rewards players for being online, and restricts them if they aren't on for large amounts of time, allow for far fewer players than actually wanted to play, and then wonder why people stay on in AFK and no one else could get on? Fucking morons.

Scott Hartsman failed at his job regarding this game's launch. That's a fact. No excuse can change that fact unless it is a lie.

I do not understand why they had no plan to implement more servers (other than save a few $) upon F2P launch when the paying Founders had a smaller queue during Headstart.

Trion has egg all over their face for this mess.   They design a game with this LP system that rewards those that stay on line and penalizes those not online and then they wonder why there are queues?  Absolutely amazing.  Granted, they did not develop the game, just regionalized it, but until they fix the LP system, the game will continue to be a absolute disaster!

"the need for more and better communication"

That's the hallmark failing of any Trion game.  Lack of consistent informative communication. They've been telling us that same tired story since Rift launched, told it again for Defiance, and now they're bemoaning it yet again for Archage.

Maybe this time they'll actually do something about it instead of just talk about doing something about it.

If it is a quick reply or communication from TRION you are looking for, you need to preface your post with something eluding to ganking the FTP playerbase all to hell. OCHO responds almost immediately. VERY touchy subject over at TRION right now. Much more important to make sure they don't lose a FTP player vs. the Founders.

Trion could do somethings much better they are not using the restrictions to balance the load to more servers
They removed everything but the fireworks from the Explorer's Spots

    TThey dumbed down the traderoutes

What else will Trion introduce from Patch 1.0?
  • JJ82JJ82 Member UncommonPosts: 1,258
All this makes me glad that Trion forced Glyph use onto this game, keeping me playing the Japanese version that has no queues yet plenty of players...on more servers. lol, 8 servers for an American launch?!? HAHAHAHA...oh, and Hackshield? HAHAHAHHAHA. Trion is terrible.

Such a let down. I've played numerous MMO's over the last 15 years and had extremely high hopes for this one. I enjoyed everything about the game up until actually logging in to my toon. Everything after that was a disappointment.

It's baffling how devs create these cookie-cutter mmo's with no clue what makes a truly great MMO gaming experience. It took 1 hour of playing to realize this game is a flop (I pushed myself for about 20 more hours of game-time just in-case my initial judgement was wrong). I don't really care what may have potentially come after the 20 hours (or as some people are saying level 30+) - if the game is that boring and monotonous all the way through it isn't worth my time. ! to ? is an accurate representation of what this game is with lethargic combat, average animations at best, and too many cut-scenes for what is meant to be a dynamic player-driven sandbox MMO.

We don't need rocket scientists to create games, we just need people that understand what  quality, entertaining and rewarding gameplay means. You may think this rant is highly subjective, and may not agree. While that may be partially true, my response to that is that if you feel that way and actually like this game, then you are lucky. Because that tells me you have only tasted the fruit of other cookie-cutter MMOs and don't really know what quality gameplay/MMO experience even means, thus you can enjoy almost anything you pick up.

Perfect, afk are the problems not the lack of foresight and investment in servers

    To Scotty Hartsman,

Just a bit of advice for thing like founders items. Make them on some sort of /claim type thing or these items should be in the mail box of every character no matter how many times I reroll. If the stuff can not be traded then there is no reason to only give it to the first 6 made characters. That is totally asinine. I can understand the daru chest but not the costume, glider, cape and title ect. How many people make a character not like the look and want to remake real quick? Well now they are screwed. Even a money grubbing company like EA did this with SWTOR. This company Trion has lost its way and has really fallen since the release of Rift. I have only received my items on one character so far and the others I have made not a thing. I have not received the chests on the one character I got the other items though the in game mail system. Do not even get me started on the lack of insight and ball dropping on servers and que's.

They made some critical underestimating mistakes that is for sure. I don't know how it is in America but in Europe we where given 4 or 5 servers to begin with. Really.....For the whole of Europe only 4 to 5 servers?

This whole queue thing could have been tested. They done one open beta weekend. Why not having 3? After the open beta they noticed a lot more people where interested. The open beta doesn't seem to had any function at all. Isn't a open beta to test how the servers will hold up...meaning queues as well?

Can you prevent these things? No not really, but Trion didn't prepare very well either.

What bothers me most is the lack of communication. I bought the silverpack, i did not get my glider and title until i bought something on the marketplace cause that was the only solution i had to hear on the chats ingame from other players. I find it a bit weird that you don't get your items by mail as you should until you buy something. Sure i got credits with the silverpack i bought but i shouldn't have to need too do it. And they should have mailed me or tell me what to do by the news things on their launcher and website. They only thing i saw was that there where problems but no solution was mentioned.

Ontop of that i heard those who have more then 30 days of patron status will get a extra 30 day's...but what of those who bought the silverpack and got 30 days? I haven't been able to play this whole damn week cause of them. I work during the day so i can't login to the game till 17:30...prime time. By the time i'm out of the queue i have to go to bed. Or the game simply tells me the connection with the server was lost.....really? Weird cause my internet wasn't broken for one second so how did i lose connection to the server? And why does it wait telling me that till i finally can get into the game after 5 or 6 hours waiting?

Did i expect start up problems....yes. I even smiled in the begining of the week, thinking it would be alright. But right now i missed the early access cause of them screwing up the Saturday with server issues most of the day even before the DDOS attack. I got to play once that weekend. Thought "O well i will wait till after launch then" as everyday there was a long queue. But the launch wasn't any better and there was no communication, no email send and when i went to the website i couldn't find much useful information.

I started my Free Account this weekend.... First free time from work since release ....

Saturday I was placed in queue ... 8561 waiting ... lol

Sunday I was placed 3546 in queue

Decided to wait until today given most of EU will be at work. I am lucky (or not depending on your thoughts) to work a 4 on 4 off Night Shift

Logged in this am and was straight into the game

First thing I see after char creation and getting in world ..... GOLD SPAMMERS .... tons of 'em

These are probably the reason for the huge queues.

As soon as I entered the game, I couldn't see any quest givers or oher players  except goldspammers

In the first 5mins of logging in I had 50 spammers on /block

The only problem is ... the game auto unblocks them after 5mins, and the spam starts again

I can also add that since Aion have not seen so much gold spam in chat and no easy to report button, just block. If you play with alts must block all again with alts.

Game as game ... well, looks just average (or slightly below) to me with movement, combat, .... all. And being meant for PVP folk only will not play more then for short to test and for fun. But as it looks this fun will run out pretty fast.

Q times are bad enough that it has driven me back to play WoW while I wait for my turn to log into the game after waiting in the Q...Not exactly what I wanted..maybe I should play Diablo 3 instead...or even go the extrême as to sign up for Final Fantasy Realm Reborn...no Q in those games
  • mandragoamandragoa Member UncommonPosts: 9

In north-America queue is low but in Europe u have to wait 6+ hours but will be kicked DC before u can play.

Never seen such a Release before.

    Poor Founders

  • BroddeBrodde Member UncommonPosts: 2

There is no invert mouse option. -90% score for a released game. (Even if there is a third party hero hack that solves it good enough for PVE).

When that is fixed, together with a bunch of other design flaws I will probably spend money on it. But today I mostly idle to get labor points.

Queues during launch week are not a very big deal imho. If the queues are still there after this week, the complete server design must be flawed. Maybe XL should have had a character limit on each server (character created, not character logged on).

I wouldn't recommend the game at its current state. But if no other MMO:s (for the same PVP/Sandbox players) show up in the next 12 months, its worth a second chance by then (as long as they fix the controls).

game is so boring I almost fell asleep playing it 10 times... got from level 1 to 12 in a few hours play time and just couldn't take it anymore there is no fun in the game its lack luster with no pay off... I was looking forward to earning a fighting pet then I'm told I don't get one of those til mid level and then I have to find one that is worth a damn.  the powers are weak, the movement is slow, the quest are a bore, the players are all mindlessly droning, the only thing missing is the auto combat and the auto pathing and the game would be a complete automatic failure... this is one destine to bomb. I had more fun playing 10 minutes of Diablo 3 than 10 hours of ArcheAge.

I found it ridiculously hard to block those spammers at times. They need a better way to do that quickly.
