Lol... risking their $$$ for another game while wow is working and bringing them streams of $$$$$... Its kinda obvious.. Questing, hitting max level, raiding/pvp/arena/rated bgs works for them so i guess theres no point fixing things which ain't broke...
Idk if cancelling titan means they channel more $$$ to wow to make real good changes on it.. Honestly, i doubt so
If Titan really was going to be an MMO, then I can see why they scrapped it. We, the consumer, just don't seem to see a whole lot of good in new MMOs any more - they get ripped to shreds by anyone not playing them as their main MMO. We've probably reached saturation point in how many there are available now, and so would it really be worth Blizzard's time and effort to make something that competed with WoW, which still has far more subscribers than they probably imagined it would have 7 years ago.
It will take some really, earth-shatteringly-awesome new MMO for people to really warm to it in their droves and for it to stand the test of time. We've got picky and fussy, but most importantly, MMO gamers are aging and tastes change - the plan 7 years ago probably needs re-doing once or twice in that time as it wouldn't still be relevant, hence the trip back to the drawing board a year ago. Now they probably realise it isn't worth it.
To add a serious comment. blizzard has always done this kind of thing. They are very careful about what they release and when they release it. I actually respect Blizzard for that in a lot of ways as most companies will just milk their franchises with game after game after game not caring about any level of quality at all.
blizzard has three really popular, great, and strong franchises. I think they realized developing a new one at this time was probably not in their best interest. Especially another MMO. Right now they're in a good place to appeal to five different but very big PC genres without directly competing with themselves at all. I do wish they would ramp up their content cycle on WoW though. I love the game but Im not big on the gear grind and that unfortunately seems to be their primary focus for content.
credit to Blizzard. they could carry on with the project and based on sheer amount of hype power alone would probably make some good money return (at the expense of gamers wasting money). instread they ditched it.
It's hard to be disappointed when I completely forgot they had another MMO in development or knew any details about it.
Still I hope they work on a WOW 2.0. The current formula is pretty stale but if they changed the gameplay with more sandbox elements, plus added in better character customization, better graphics, possibly change the combat system - well I don't know if they would get the subs they had before but I bet there would be a big increase.
I imagine though they will wait until their subs decline to about 3-4 million before they make any major changes, and that will probably take a couple of expacs or another 4 years.

This. I would love to see Blizzard do what they do best (take popular ideas from everyone else) and put them in Azeroth. Imagine a Guild Wars 2, RIFT, Archeage, TESO, Wildstar, WoW, EQ hybrid set in Azeroth.
Well they worked on something for 7 years and decided to can it because they thought it wasn't fun. How do you work on something for that long and then all of a sudden you wake up and realize the game isn't fun ? Sorry but my super duper common sense is telling me this is a load of nonsense what they are telling the public. So here is a list of opinions and conspiracy theories I came up with...
1. They want WoW to live forever. They even said it themselves they want to support WoW forever. They must have said to themselves , oh heck this is better than WoW and if the public ever gets their hands on it WoW is dead.
2. They simply aren't that talented anymore. All the good devs left Blizzard ages ago.
3. They couldn't find a way to max out the profit potential out of the game. Blizzard always puts business model before anything else.
4. If you can't beat WoW then why try. Lets make WoW 2 instead because they know how to milk WoW forever. Brace yourselves, WoW 2 is in the making because WoW is what they are good at.
5. Here is my favorite one. They got wind of a big mmo coming our way and whatever they was making simply will not be able to compete with it.
On a final note. For the love of god would you stop wasting time and give us Starcraft Ghost and Warcraft 4 !
What I'm seeing is Blizz bailing out of the genre altogether. I mean they'll still be milking what is left in the utters of the half-dead WoW cow surely, but it seems their marketing strategists recommend concentrating efforts elsewhere.
Originally posted by Prenho3 For me it makes no difference, I don't play Activision-Blizzrd games. The only exception still is Diablo. CoD, WoW and Destiny are just terrible.
If you don't play their games how do you they are terrible?
All MMO's have grinds. If you don't like to Grind then MMO's are not for you.
They can't disappoint me, because I won't buy another Blizzard game again. Blizzard is not about entertainment any more, it's about farming people hard and heavy. They lack the quality and dedication the came up with in the pre WoW years for long now.
The company has gotten to big and developed to much of their own red tap to break. To many voices have a say so in what happens causing stuff like this to happen. At this point i really can care less.
now that is the smartest thing said in this column wow is too big no matter what anyone says i love the game but have struggled with the people who play the game there full of negativity but the game has always fulfilled my gaming needs i would imagine they are finding how it will be easier to enhance wow and do more things with it at first they said they would after draenor stop the content updates for wow but then they said they will be making more improvements and content updates after the release of draenor you do the math we dont want a wow clone of any type but a build up of wow more content more races more story more skills more graphic improvements even those ik you want more mounts blizzard you have gotten the right idea beaf up what is still leading the world..........
If any company had a chance to make a great game by dropping loads of endless money into it, it would have been Blizz. Even with a lower sub base of 6M, that equates to well over 80M a month. Not to mention it was double that for years.

Jobs mean nothing compared to his gaming preference. Even though he doesn't have to purchase, play or even read articles about the company's games.

Prediction: Activision will bring the RFID technology that is being used in the Skylanders franchise and release it for WoW on consoles.
Take this with a grain of salt, I'm terrible at this type of stuff.
LOL!
I think Blizzard swims in way too much cash when it becomes ok to just develop games and then ditch them.

>>SMITE<<
>>Strife: best ever MOBA<<
>>Rift: FREE Ally of the Ascended Pack<<
So "titan" did "fall"
I guess Microsoft was right on this one, lol

Lost my mind, now trying to lose yours...
How could it make you sad Bill? You have no idea what the game is like. It was probably shit hence the drop.
Either that or they were making a wow killer.. Kinda counter-productive anyway.
