    I don't think it's related to LP. Any new and popular game with queues will have people AFKing for hours.

    This can even affect a game if a part of it has a queue, like GW2's WvW. People used to AFK in WvW to avoid the prime time queues.

     Yes it has all to do with the LP system!  Free players don´t offline regen LP, so the only way to gain LP as free player is to buy LP pots in the store or stay in the game.

    So what you think most people going to do? Keep buying LP pots?  Yeah right! TRION ofcourse would love that. But ain´t gonna happen.

    I agree with you. I am checking out the game and in every nook and cranny I see AFK players running into walls.

    The AFK timer is now at 5 minutes, although about an hour ago from typing this post, there was a server-wide message from TRION that The 5 Minute AFK timer may have been too aggressive and will be hot-fixed soon.

    there is no more 7 hour wait. since this update it hasnt been more than 10 mins to get in. just dont go afk for more then 10 mins. but if you get kicked u have 10 mins to hop back in a skip queue. if not its still less that 10 mins to go thru queue again.

    Hey, 

     

       Afkers and spammers, well why we want to be afk is varried and not all due to the LP, it may not be the major either, Everything takes time to do.

    1> level mountts

    2> level skills ( I seen lots of founders botting places of regular spawns)

    3> Gain LPs (Never really had issues with getting LPs either Free or as Patron)

    4> Spammers/Griefers - I call the spamemrs Griefers caue they are spewing ther ads out to fast for normal people even to read.  Since you cant pause the windows scrolling really hard to block them.  (The really makes using channels really hard) 

     

     Now, you can never get everyone who does the above,  And it only helps some, its was the rush of people who was the real problem.  And a week later people are board with it and the counts are lowering. But Trion is adding servers so they know the need beter then we do. And know the ture reason for the lower Q times.

    Word I read tonight while on is that the AFK timer is now 25mins

    Also, to defeat the timer, it seems liek everyone is just attacking the town training dummies. I'm assuming there's something sitting on their keyboard key.

    I know I've done that when I've had to get dinner or hit the john :)

    Nearing the end of 2014 and online games can still be "gamed" with a trick started in UO in 1997, ie putting something heavy on a key to repeatedly hit a training dummy...brilliant.

    The most crazy thing about that is the fix to stop that behavior is so simple and there are multiple solutions.

    - Have mounts only gain exp on distance covered. Running into a wall = no exp

    - Have players dismount when they hit a wall

    - Add mount stamina so after 5 minutes or so the mount stops on its own

    It is easy to make a quick looping macro to stay logged in. However it is piss poor design to give such an insanely huge incentive to stay logged in (increased labor). They could cut queue times in half by just allowing people to earn labor at the same rate offline.
