LFGame to replace Tera

souprgyrosouprgyro Member Posts: 2
I've been playing Tera for a few years and am growing tired of it.  I'm looking for a Free-To-Play replacement that has similar action combat.  Tab targeting was cool about 10 years ago, but there's no place for it in modern games.

Not to much to go on there as far as a reference might go. I might say that if you can play Tera that long you can play just about anything.

I doubt you will find anything, just wait for the new update

Agree with above poster. If you can deal with Tera for years you have many options in the f2p market.  Lasted less than a day myself.

Neverwinter and The Elder Scrolls Online both have action combat.

You could also give GW2 a try.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

You might be looking for archeage. LOL! However, you will need to wait until 16 or pay to have a head start on 12.

I'll look into The Elder Scrolls Online.  I have read about Archeage, and will consider it when it comes available in the US.  Thank you for the suggestions.

Neverwinter may be incredible, but being a PWE publication, it is doomed.  They have managed to ruin several titles that I have played over the years, including PWI, Forsaken World, and Raiderz, making them all Pay-2-Win.  In fact, before Neverwinter was released, they offered a founders package for around $150 USD.  $150 for a game that hasn't even been released?  I'm not that ignorant.  I understand the publisher is a business, but there are much better ways to handle cash shops and subscriptions.  I appreciate what EME has done with Tera in that regard.

Neverwinter, DCUO, GW2 if you don't mind paying for the game, ESO if you don't mind paying for the game and a subscription, and Phantasy Star Online 2 if you don't mind playing in Japanese.

Since when is Tuesday a direction?

This here.  DDO also has an action combat view option as well.  DDO is a solid f2p game but is often overlooked or forgotten about.  The only thing that really keeps me away from the game is the setting of Eberron.  I prefer Greyhawk mostly and Forgotten Realms somewhat over Eberron.

nothing quite like TERA... open world action combat...

if you don't mind lobby and instanced dungeon crawlers, there's always Dragon Nest, Vindictus, C9...

personally, i'm waiting for Black Desert...

First, if you're growing tired of it then why are you looking for something just like it to replace it?

Second, tab target and other types of combat absolutely have a place in modern games. It should be right next to the action combat games giving a variety of options for people to choose from.

Third and finally, as some people have said there isn't much on the market thats quite like tera. The big alternatives aren't quite the same and are almost 'semi-action combat' which is to say they're closer to a tab target game than a full action game but with a bit more control on the aiming of things. For free to play thats primarily neverwinter and I guess raiderz, if you get flexible then theres guild wars 2 (buy to play) and wildstar (pay to play).

Archeage isn't action combat, and ESO isn't f2p.  You'll have to look for some asian MMOs, such as Vindictus or C9.

Dragon's Prophet has similar combat and is F2P. It's not nearly as pretty as TERA.  Darkfall has similar combat, but it is less sensational and majestic looking.  Maybe a different play style altogether is what you need to freshen things up. GL
