How can everyone be having a free time when the OP isn't?  Or did you mean a specific everyone?

Don't know, maybe the OP is busy? lol

Caught me.  Meant to be "fun" but stupid autocorrect on iPad.

See...I looked passed the spelling and figured grimal meant "good/great time"

    Autocorrect. I hate it.

Another huge problem is that the game currently is overrun and that you have to wait several hours if you want to play it. Simply haven't got the time to wait for the login queue to let me in.

It is the same as LOTRO. You can make breath taking screenshots but the game isn't all that pretty all around. AA graphics is fairly dated and sub-par, despite there are some places making up for wonderfull views.

Pity I lost the track of the thread/original post but there was one of those pretty screenshot posted with an airship, so I went to the place and all I did was turned around and made a screenshot how the game looks at the same spot, just from different angle, this is what I got:
    http://postimg.org/image/u3a179di5/

    That is with max setting.

The game can have it's moments but that is how the game actually look like for most of your play time.

He also mentioned playing for 5 minutes, which to me is also just another sign of a troll being a troll. No one can judge a game in 5 minutes, but nice try.

Actually you can judge a game in 5 minutes, sometimes less.  The further the game is from your 'comfort zone' or your desired play style the quicker you can say: "nup not for me".  The closer it is the longer it takes.

Consider it as a matter of criteria, if there are say 20 things you judge a game on and your rate them out of 10, you may not be able to judge whether or not a particular cirteria is a 6 or a 7 or higher.  But if it is a one or a zero you know straight away. Enough 1s and 0s and you know very quickly the game is not for you.

For me the OW PvP is a zero, the descriptions of how the housing works is a 1 at most and the presence of ships and hang gliders is a definite zero.  Add to that the root kit thingy and it is not for me ever.

However for other folks the game may be the greatest thing ever.

Just like every MMO release you mean? after all these years i find it strange that people still use this type of reasoning.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

Come on, you're better than this..

He said he wasn't impressed within 5 minutes, but went on to basically state that he has been playing for 2 days and his first impression had not changed.  Something like that.  I read it. =)

The graphics are not bad at all IMO.  They are not the best I have ever seen in a game.  Now a game with graphics like this will have a harder time surviving the new graphic band wagon because they are attempting a more real life approach.  Everyone will have their opinion and nothing is wrong with that.  If you like it you like it if you don't you don't and nothing anyone can say or do will change a thing.

As for log in que's they have all but disappear for patrons at this point not sure how bad f2p are on my server.  But people were saying less than 5 mins que's yesterday being f2p.  They should have left the 5 min afk timer there in my opinion it seemed to make things better. But they are changing it again today as I write this.

5 minutes is way too long to trial a game.

I hate stupidly large weapons and the graphics arent all that great which everyone says are great. Its has this Neverwtiner nights / Guild wars 2 feel to it and i hate both of those games.

add in F2P and the pay to win cash shop and its not for me. Ill play my eve online and ESO until Pathfinder or Star Citizen comes out.

I am so freakin happy I did not do a founders pack on this game.....

The larger swords, specifically nodachis, are based off of REAL LIFE SWORDS. if you google them they are typically 6-7 feet long. in archeage they are a bit stylzed and wider than the real life inspirations but you are in Auoria, which is not a depicion of realism.

Sorry but i am so sick of people playing fantasy genre games that include magic, fictional races/creatures, and such but as soon as they see a sword bigger than they typically see, they cry how its so unrealaistic it is and how it breaks immersion. really ?!? People throwing fireballs and placing magical glyph symbols on the ground to heal or curse you didn't make you complain how unrealistic it is, so why are you making a big deal about a sword that is actually partically based off of realism.

Also cash shop doesn't offer anything that is pay to win. it does offer things can speed leveling but once you reach 50, no matter if you paid for a 10% increase or not, you ARE on the same grounds as any other 50. By the way the best armor is crafted and the best weapons are from Hasla, where you have to gather tokens that allow you to get the weapons.

Personally, I would say ESO was a waste of money and im glad i didn't spend a dime on it but to each their own.

    Good day sir.

The queuing issue has been fixed... my max queue the last 2 days has been 4 minutes.  Yeah the long queues were super annoying but they are gone.

What does this even mean?  What is a "run of the mill F2P Asian MMO" look like?  I have been playing MMOs for 13 years and have tried everyone that has come along and I have no idea what this means?

For starters AA isn't really F2P, that's just marketing at it's best.  It's also not P2W, that's just people that haven't played the game that have hard-ons for the P2P model spewing off negativity.

As far as graphics go the only western game that has better graphics at the moment is ESO, but then you have to deal with the fact that it's ESO and basically a single player game in a persistent world.  Or is there another western MMO out that has better graphics at the moment?

To me this isn't judging a game.    This is placing an idea in your head as to what the game is and then saying no I don't like that game.   All you are judging here is your own personal opinion, and not the game.

If I had used this method I would probably never have tried Fallen Earth.    I don't particularly like post- apoc themes in games.   I don't particularly like PvP.    I basically wanted to try it because it was a game that seemed outside my comfort zone.

And you know what I, I found lots of stuff to like about it.    It pretty much changed my attitude as to what to look for in a game.

I remember I thought I would never like golf as well, LOL.    Sometimes you never know what you will like, but you gotta at least try it.

FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!
