Customization should be on the fly, meaning you see a certain type  enemy you equip yourself accordingly. You learn what you need to equip over time, experience the game world and instantly know your enemy.

An example would be your fighting Leviathon,a water based creature, you might want a Thunderous ability or gear to do better damage.Your fighting Ifrit a FIRE based enemy, you need Water based attacks,or perhaps your fighting Undead, then you need to  fight it in the day time ect ect, that is game customization, not slots or gems that is weak sauce ,not much of an effort at all.

Yeah, they did that.  It's called DragonAge:  Inquisition.

    The two aren't mutually exclusive.

The two come from the same pot of development money.  In an MMO I want customisation, crafting and all the other stuff that comes with it.  In a single player game I want an excellent game experience.  I don't care if my character looks like a million others around the world, I do care about the quality of the game mechanics and the size of the game.  RPG's have been getting smaller and smaller in recent years.  Remember when games taking about 80 hours to complete was commonplace?  Now we are lucky if a game cracks half that.  So less of the fluff and more game please.

If the company is not interested in us Mac users, then the feeling becomes mutual.

Looks good the only problem with the Dragon Age games is that they are far too easy to complete, amd offer no real challenge.....thank godness for mods!

So in this linear story-telling game you can customize your character?

    That's awesome..

A Prius at least gets good gas mileage. Anything a Hummer can do can be done better with a cheaper vehicle.

this...it's what I really wanted to MMORPG.com to ask.  Will your story vary depending on race, economic class and all that stuff....like the first one.  The second dragon age was a HUGE letdown in this category

Not for long, Been a slow role reversal going on thanks to MSFTs new take on the OS...they are doing more to get in the way and limit the PC to mobile abilities.

Anyway, I was hoping to see something about easing the way to mod the game like Bethesda was doing with their games.

I love Bioware, and I'm glad theyre still around even after EA aquiredd them (we all know how EA usually eats up developers and spits our their carcass) but one thing I've always found lacking in their games is the way the character models never quite feel finished or proportioned... I know it sounds nitpicky but just a personal peeve of mine.

EA is evil, Bioware is long dead. I did not forget about DAII and these guys are not getting a penny out of my pocket...

Fail on the multiplayer part, that should have been as in diablo  and path of exile.

I was a big fan of DA:O and even liked DA:2 but I must admit, the more I read about DA:I the more I am thinking I will give it a miss. They seem to be pandering to all the wrong things. I want a complex RPG with tactical combat and  meaningful story choices, and I am not sure this is it. It looks very watered down. They are focussing on all the wrong things, like simplified combat mechanics, a linear story and gay romance. Not really my cup of tea.

It also costs a bloody fortune.

Dragon Age has always had gay/straight/bi romance.
