For the next few weeks we are continuing to work on the "Subscription Free" service. For those of you that have not seen the explanation of this service, I'll list it out for you here.
Subscription Free
New Players will be able to create a new account and and play for free for a period of 12 months. The new account will have limitations on the BattleRank (+ or - BR8) and the CommandRank (+ or - CR2). Essentially, new players will be able to have access to any part of the game but they will be limited on the diversity of their arsenal. Time Frame We are shooting for February 14th for Launch.

Yup, saw that. Doesn't do much for returning vets though. I'm back on the 30 day free re-try thing playing it as a secondary game to my DAOC addiction. But if the sub price doesn't drop *significantly* I won't be staying. I refuse to pay $14 a month for a game that's got friggen adds in it. PS isn't good enough to justify the price WITHOUT the adds.... WITH the adds it REALLY isn't worth it, imo.
I like the upcoming concepts though. They all sound nice except maybe the air to air skeeter. That one could wind up making skeeters too powerful.

I think its a good idea and doubt this will affect the current subs as they get much more cert points and might convert a few people from free play.AO is using it.
It is still a descent mmofps and best in that genre out there.The lag is way better .As for balance well its as good as its gonna get and remember all those nerfs were due to players whining anyhow.
I still has some easy to use bugs sadly.There is a bug where some people using dual core processors can run very fast .
Another annoying bug i seen personally is if u use a x850xt(heard same happens with x1800) on max resolution/setting with a TFT screen you will ALWAYS see a clocker even if he is crouching.
lol as I have said many times last year when this was brought up BR6 is way to freaking low.. They should have allowed people to get to atleast br 12 to be able to make a pretty decent character... Any vet that has skills and plays this game knows that with out being able to heal yourself and repair yourself your in for hours of easy deaths and fustration..
Also BR 6 can be attained in a a few hours at the most.

Why would you want to buy the game if you could have BR 12 for free? Truthfully you can easily beat anyone else in the game with a BR 1 charactor. Being above BR 7 is a convience since it means you will be able to use more equiptment, but is not require to play the game.
They will never go as high as BR 12 for the free play. Enrico may go to BR 8 but at this time he feels BR 6 is enough.

Planetside.com just got a new website in preperation for the "Free Play" option. Although the JOIN NOW buttion in the center does not give you the free play option yet, it most likely will when they launch the promotion.
Nice copying of the eve online video they did last year
even got the same music and basic layout with it going though the races
