A video game industry giant is now making his mark on the MMORPG genre. John Romero, whose game credits include such fundamentals as Doom, Doom II, Quake, Wolfenstein 3D, Heretic and Hexen, is, according to internet sources, working for an undisclosed MMORPG company on an undisclosed project. Romero's own personal website backs this claim up.
God, No! I'm Making An MMO! Many people already knew I was making an MMO for about the past 4-5 months but evidently there are a lot more who didn't know as evidenced by the news blurbs that blasted out today after PC ZONE magazine announced it online. |
MMORPG.com will continue to follow this story for new developments.
Romero's website can be found, here.

"In short, I thought NGE was a very bad idea" - Raph Koster talking about NGE on his blog at raphkoster.com
Why? Aside from Killcreek's transformation, what has he done?

No, it IS Daikatana Online! Sweeeet!!!
As the ad said.... Is he going to make us his *#*$ again?
Have you played a PC game recently?
WELL THEN THANK ROMERO! God.."what has he done"...
Haha ok. If you want to credit Romero for the birth of video games then you go right ahead. I, for one, HAVE played games, and aside from some level design for ID, the ION Storm debacle, and now his mobile phone development company...I can't much think of anything he's done for the industry, let alone revolutionary.
My opinion of course.
