When can I start my life of crime?

bcbullybcbully Member EpicPosts: 11,843

I decided to give AA a shot. I'm level 10 atm. I'm already sick of quest. As far as quests go they aren't that bad though. They're all quick and easy. Thus far thus things are alright. Nothing directing me to the cash shop, and no troubles with labor points.

I tried to gank someone on the way to the second zone, but it said something about 10 and below being protected. I think I stole something from someones vase, I'm not sure.

To the thread title, when can I start my life of crime? Can I level killing and stealing?

lmao uprooting plants? That's right up my ally. Gotta start somewhere. Water 100% pvp, good to know. What level can I kill one of those mount hopping newbs (like myself), level 11?

You can safely ignore this part as it does not apply to you, someone having 1st, one and only character.

Leveling via crafting is possible but costly and beyond reach of new player.

I believe all servers have at least a pirate guild making fortune at cost of honest merchant like me image

Join one and you will have alot of fun special on ocean, we will do our best to fight back  image

You can be a solo pirate with a clipper but we merchants normally go in groups so  you better have a group too, sometimes 3 or 4 is enouph to start your criminal life.

Have fun, im sure you will  image

Bloodlust mode allows killing at any level - but at level 30+ is when PvP really opens up (due to 30+ areas having war/conflict periods)

My advice get a mount/clipper (speedboat) and you'll be good to go - also find a guild of folks that are into the same playstyle as you - ArcheAge is very much a guild game - yes you can solo, but it's SO much more fun with a guild - especially when it comes to doing anything that requires a group - which is a lot (Galleons solo would suck - need other folks to fire those cannons)

Also crafting is highly interdependent the higher up you go - you'll need a guild to achieve those upper tiers

I think characters below level 10 are protected from any form of PvP.

    Lol no.

Mining, either surface or underwater is about as fast as killing mobs...and it costs labor + pots on top.

It is a good supplementary activity to either questing or mob grinding tho.

I also was all about taking a life of crime and becoming a solo villain. Eh i haven't played in weeks but I leveled up to 50 and here are my disappointments with wanting to become a criminal:

    1) You can't destroy, steal, or do anything to anyone's farm cause they are perma-buffed with invincibility and if you try to kill a player on his farm they are also invincible but they can still kill you while remaining immune.

    2) You can't steal anything cause of invincible buff.

    3) You can't kill anyone cause of invincible buff.

    4) Uprooting is about the only thing you can do and it costs an absurd amount of labor points and it is not fun.

    5) You basically can't do anything cause everyone has invincible buff.

    6) Killing players gives no reward.

    7) Infiltrating other faction cities has no point.

    8) You will be ganked before you can even do anything in contested areas.

The pvp experience was really bad. I was looking for something like WoW where I can infiltrate cities and stealth without being caught (well I guess that was vanilla wow before all the cities became neutral zones).

MMOs just don't seem to get the concept of what a pvper wants.

What invincibility buff are you talk about?

Let me see if i understand, you want PvP, complain about no pvp where is not supose to hapened and them complain about be killed when is possible to hapened? image

After all whats your concept of PvP? im really confuse...

The complaint is simple - PVP system in AA is pointless, more than that, it's stupid.

    How the system work?

There are several "PVP zones" that can change their state from peaceful to war. Those zones are zones where +28 lvl players are questing. But here comes the fun part:

Only gain for killing someone is Honor points. Honor points are then used to purchase lvl 50 gear. But you gain honor only if zone is in War state and in order to change a zone from peaceful to war state, there needs to be killed 500 players.

So you can be that questing lowbie and kill other questing lowbies - this is the only "fun" part, but you gain nothing for doing so, it's entirely pointless and most of the time people just keep questing ignoring reds or you can be that lvl 50 that is incited to farm 500 lowbies in order to get zone state changed and getting a chance for gaining some honor.

Needles to say that once the zone turns War, it gets truly swarmed by lvl 50...

A joy of themepark PVP and poor game design.
