What are my options? Still the same as a few months ago? Going to pick up some work on a boat. Shrimping or fishing, Temperary just for the experience. Def want a laptop i can game on. FX 7600P are still not on market. Sager the cheapest one they have that i liked awhile back was in the neighborhood of $1300 dual heatsink , dual fan /rear exhaust vents.
Guess i just need to fork out the cash if i want to game on a laptop? Mobile games aren't cutting it and i hate most of their business practices.

A lot depends on the level of performance you're after. While there's still no FX-7600P laptops, you can get some Kaveri laptops at least. For example:

Very impressive performance for a 19 W APU, but still, it's a 19 W APU. I'd expect most games to run pretty well at medium settings, and sometimes even high. But a handful of games won't run smoothly at any settings.
If you want to go up several notches in performance, these are $1100 each:

The first spends for a nice CPU, the second for a nice GPU, and they're both passable but not great on the other of the two components. If you want a nice CPU and a nice GPU, then that adds up. Same with if you want an SSD, as that restricts you to the handful of sites that let you customize things.
Yeah. I think if i break 1k. Just going to get a Sager like i want it. Im interrested in the first because of the price. I guess i should probably go with something like that. Make sure i use it enough to justify a 1.5 -2k price tag for a better one. I'm so hesitant atm for various reasons, but i want one. Know ill use it. Guess for whatever reason i keep dreaming that laptop prices will finally come way down. Was just looking at refurbushed ones dven on new egg.
Thank You Quizzical. Can't say i wong ask this question again in a month or two.
If you are inclined to go over 1k $, you might want to save up a bit and go for laptopts with new Nvidia GTX970m or GTX980m.
These cards are beasts and apparently only 25% slower than their desktop counterparts.
I'll get a cheaper one like quizzical posted. Make sure I use it enough and need more power before I go bigger.
I always reccomend the Asus g75vx - I always used those before I built my desktop, they were quiet, dependable, and comfortable. The 1080p display and the gtx670mx 3bg makes for a nice performance. Keyboard is backlit, 8bg ram, and an i7 processor with turbo boost, I just feel like that laptop is hard to beat when considering the price/performance ratio.
Buy it used and you will have a decent chunk of money for any upgrades you want too.
A quick search on ebay item # 261628857783 - looks decent - seller looks legit as well. I would steer clear on pawnshops listing pc's always buy from a pc vendor or a personal ad like this one.
That's cool.
If you're interested in gaming on the go, you also might want to check out this.
You buy a console of your choice, which won't be outdated in a year or two (like gaming laptop) and then buy the protective case with screen. Overall, it should be cheaper than gaming laptop and your console should be pretty safe in that hard case.
That's interresting. Haven't been much of console gamer in years but that... might actually be a way to go without spending so much. Lots of console titles i haven't played. That might just be enough... awesome, Thank You.
Hooray for buying discontinued stuff two generations before the present? Even if something was nice when you got it, it's not 2012 anymore.
