"Compete in PvP" is pretty much what everything in AA's end game really boils down to.  Sure, you can spend a few moments like, making your house prettier or getting a prettier mount, but that's about it.  Everything else eventually feeds  into the PvP so if you aren't there to compete in PvP, you're going to be sorely dissappointed later on...

There really isn't anything to "win" and you seem to be struggling with yourself more than the game itself.

You missed the part where he said he already played Alpha. He has plenty of experince with game more than you and I combined.

    Day 102 post launch:

The 4 of us left in the guild set out for another trade pack run across the ocean from Solzreed to Ynystere. With the waters being virtually devoid of resistance or danger of any kind, we loaded two trade ships and announced in faction chat for anyone listening to try and gank us, as we've seen no one at sea for two days. As we left the sound, we could see a clipper approaching us. Was it someone who could provide some entertainment overtaking our 4 man crew vessels? No, it was just Scapes from Trion, looking for something to do, so we permitted him aboard...

Remembering the days when we had to send a scout to our destination, even arcing our path to avoid pirates and privateers, we shared a few music notes and danced upon the deck in reminisce. We asked Scapes about any news on merging servers but he assured us that when v1.7 was released, people would come back. We were cautiously encouraged. As we approached the Caernord harbor, we saw galleon with many purples aboard, waiting at the entrance like a spider waiting for its prey to hit it's web. Hooray!, we said in Teamspeak. Someone to actually contest us! As we buffed and prepared to be boarded, we knew we'd lose all 40 packs but we didn't care :) In one simultaneous chat spam, everyone on board the galleon said, "Sorry to boring you friend! Your packs we like!" At that moment, we were overtaken by bots.

    The End

Every time Goonsquad/SA/DS post salt on Star Citizen, I spend more money on it. Every time a mentally disturbed former backer or Elite CMDR toxic emo comments, I spend more money on it. Every time they refuse to answer why they spend so much time arguing about a game they don't even like, I spend more money on it. Want to watch the world burn because you can't have your way? You got whats coming to you.

He thinks it is another of those games that hand over top tier items to every player who play or just "participate". He needs to play themepark games like me if he wants easy achievement.

Some people are so jealous that others found a game they like, that they feel entitled to bash it on the forum thinking that somebody gives a crap ^^ Just get going already you are wasting your time.

Couldn't have said it better myself. It sounded as if he was in a big hurry to "finish" the game or accomplish something. That being said I do fully understand his motives to quitting, with all the issues in that game, who wouldn't?

Yes for everyone else that does not understand that the only thing in this game is to get land to craft better, to do trade runs, to earn money, to be able to make better gear, to PvP better (which is the end game in AA).

AA is not a Sandbox as much as a Hybrid Theme Park/PvP MMO which rewards you for killing your own faction and lowbies as much as actual PvP with other faction. The Jury system is a huge joke and your better off being a Pirate than staying with either faction.

Sure the boats and water sport is fun.... to a certain point, but soo much of this game just becomes empty and boring, especially if you don't like to PvP all the time.

I change the color of my font so I stand out...

I like to define what a sandbox is for everyone...

I must reiterate my definition with every AA thread...

It is because I say it is....

    I am a special snowflake...

Dude, your a broken record and I ain't buying what you are selling....

Perhaps he's trying to get to the same baseline that benny the basement dweller and harry the hacker are at so when he's "slowing down" by doing some fishing and such in this great big open world with pvp he doesn't get mauled by the aforementioned players?

When I said this game is crap I was insulted and banned 3 time   my other 2 accounts are banned for 6 months now .... so sweet to know ppl butt hurt now  easpecialy 150 $ pack founders

  • MadDemon64MadDemon64 Member UncommonPosts: 1,102

Actually, there is only 1 step.

1: Realize this game is not for you and stop playing it.  Do not make a big announcement as if you quitting is a big deal (it isn't) and do not make a thread on a forum saying that the game is bad just because you don't enjoy it (doing so just makes you look foolish).

Since when is Tuesday a direction?

For me it was one step, watch my Nvidia driver fall out while all other games in my library perform just fine. Sorry AA but you're not a special snowflake that requires I spend hours tweaking my system for.

I thought there were only 3 steps. Click start menu button, click uninstall, click confirm.

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

    Weirdly,

Nowadays you cannot also write a game BAD over here.

I feel sorry that you paid. I played FROOB.

I always try and find FUN before even paying for any game.

If I cannot continue with a game, why will I pay for it ???

Oh yes - quit a game over a feature that is not in US/EU version and it probably will never be in western version. That makes perfect sense...

But they are still using paying players money to make stuff like that.  They are using your money to make content you wont like.  It doesnt really give much hope for western players to be satisfied with future content of the game.

I'd be VERY surprised if the skateboard stuff doesn't come over here.  Trion hasn't stated otherwise and so far there's little indication there'll be significant differences from this version compared to others.

Sure, they aren't out in the wester version YET but quitting because you aren't sure the future of the game will be something you'll like is sometimes sound risk-management if you're a risk-adverse type.  MMOs are a big committment in terms of time, and sometimes in terms of money, so it's always better to invest it into an MMO you think you'll have fun for a long time rather than one you think will become unfun in future updates.

In these times of so many games launching every now and then, it is bad idea to be slow. It is a bad idea to be losing players just because you need to sell a game. I played the game till the highest level and sorry to say for me playing to see that my guild conquers a piece of land or we trade together across ocean or spending LIFE into crafting that awesome gear is not a game. It is either a too time consuming time sink or a trap to lure people into paying real money and finding for themselves what the game is all about. Anyone who had played a few Mmos can open the world and find what is there in store for this game. The future however you look at it, is not going to make it better than whatever it is.

Yes, reminds me of some people's attitude towards Wildstar.

I think this is part of the problem with the reception of this game (not that it doesn't have issues) - it's the type of player that it draws and how they play. In this case, Archeage is a Sandbox MMORPG with an emphasis on casual play, IMO. It is not a good fit a for the "think inside the box" Max/Min must win everything that is the best type of player. I have 3 characters, have played since headstart and don't have one of them past level 25. My wife and I enjoy casually cruising through the content, occasionally crafting, exploring, etc... If you are of the mentality of "must win all now" than this game wont be for you. IMO, though, I feel like they have done a better job of giving the player a reason to explore and experiment with class builds then Elder Scrolls Online has, which IMO is the only other viable option for me. My wife and I are the types of players that play a few times a week for a few hours at a time, and want freedom - that's what I liked about Skyrim. This game nails that spirit, IMO, pretty well. If all your concerned with is "being top dog" and having the best of everything as fast as possible, yeah... this game wont work for you. But if you don't mind a casual romp through a game that lets players think "outside the box" well then there is some enjoyment to be had. I feel like your problem is trying to play this game that is different, like all of your other MMO's that you rush through. Your fitting a square peg into a round hole basically, IMO. To each their own! :)
