Finally!!!

Its about time a game is announced in the making that in my opinion (flamers note the MY part here) to be the best and top mmo out there with everything to offer to all players. Sure there may not be enough info about the game yet to say that.. but if you're an avid fan of stargate like I am.. you know and think the same way I do.

We'll have the choice of playing good (SGC) or evil (Goa'uld) with one major enemy (the Ori) in common. PVP'ers will like being able to stomp around against each other. Stargate fans will enjoy finally being able to explore and live their world that they have been watching, trecking the same path that SG1 has been or for that matter attempting to take over as the Goa'uld. I see a huge success rate and enjoyment for those enthralled with being able to RP as they explore or conquer. Those who enjoy crafting.. come on now. There is SO much potential for a crafting system in this game that it litterally has endless possibilities for what you can create. Love the ancient history or the science of things? Explore with an SG team and discover it all~! Be a Goa'uld and steal your technology and knowledge! Simply having the love to play a game to explore, this game has the potential for endless worlds and places to explore. Endgame content is the big one for everyone.. so why not look at this one for what it could be if it's made correctly. Sure SGC "assults" (raids) for farming new gear/technology should be a part of it, but imagine having a choice of doing such raids, or simply constantly creating new trades, new allies, always fending off the opposing side from planets, protecting your own, battling with your sworn enemy against one more powerful common ancient evil... is anyone else just as excited as I seem to be?!

As long as all is made right, I can't see why this game won't come out on top. So flame away and be squashed by others out there who share this opinion. I understand D&D was looked at the exact same way with a MUCH longer history and fan base just with pen and paper and we see how it turned out, but I keep faith that this game will be made the way it deserves. Call me a fanboi, but I'll be one happy fanboi with a game that will never lose it's interest for me and many.. many.. MANY others. I dunno about anyone else but mmo's to me lately have come down to what keeps my interest longer than a day or two and there certainly isn't much out there right now. As I said to my friends still playing other mmo's, "enjoy what time you have left before this game comes out."

if done right, id check it out. SG1 is a great show, Richard Dean Anderson was MacGyver! lol seriously though, i see this going instanced, which would be bad for this imo, hope they dont. Its a pretty good 'verse and could lead to some interesting areas and great PvP areas (basically thru the gates etc....) ill follow this :) keep us updated

Too true.. instancing would be the #1 killer of the game completely. Nothing could be worse than stepping out into a new world knowing only you and 19 other of your friends are on planet (c) and more friends are on planet (d).. hopefully they take note and don't instance things. You mentioned about the gates and that brings up another opportunity for a very unique idea. Could you imagine hearing an alarm in the SGC, the iris closes.. yet the Goa'uld have advanced further than the SGC and come through the iris itself? The battle that would take place would be amazing.. not tojust mention this on the SGC's portal, but imagine being on another world and they come through. Ambushes, spying and following your enemy around to see what they're up to.

yea it would always leave opportunity for expansions and great battleground type areas. Town areas on other planets, open PvP battles, it could be a great game.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this one.

There's a fansite up at www.stargateworlds.org that I'm hanging out on waiting for new information.

Stargate Sg-1 is best series and also Stargate was one of my favorite movies.
This, Age of Conan, and RF online are in my top 3 list of playing this being the first.
Richard Dean Anderson(Brigadier General Jack O'Neal), Ben Browder(Colonel Mitchell), Michael Shanks(Dr. Daniel Jackson), and Teal'c (cant remember his real life name) are the 4 best people in the show
