One of the best things about a release is it helps you forget a previous release? Not good.

So basically, I'm looking forward to WoD to possibly getting into an MMO with my wife.

I tried that....... my wife wasn't into it. On a positive note, I had 2 accounts for a few months, which meant that I was able to get a metric s$#t-ton of bonus levels. I think I managed to get like 1 and a half or 20 FREE level 50s out of it.

    Brindell - 90 Warrior - Emerald Dream - US

#10 is pretty accurate and sums up my feelings about the whole Asian panda land and Pokémon adventure MoP was.

Sure, WoD is very Horde themed, but it's the best expansion since The Burning Crusade - At least in my opinion based on the early beta I was able to experience thanks to the MMORPG.com beta key hand-outs earlier this year.

I honestly haven't looked forward to a WoW expansion since TBC, but WoD seems to have all the right signs to it at the moment.

For Blizzard and WoW, WoD may just become the turning point in subscriber numbers. I get a strong vibe that a lot of MMORPG players have gotten increasingly tired of all the failed games and shady tricks companies pulled the past 7 or so years, and most of us really want a game to love and stick to rather then moving from one disappointment to another all the time. Will WoD succeed where previous expansions and other MMORPG's have failed? Time will tell.

I'm still debating to do WoD, especially cost wise when I may want to spend elsewhere on a variety of other MMO's.

I think I will still be internally debating in six months. :S

But I am curious about the new player models so might give it a go.

SO the #1 reason to get WOD is a insta-win button to make you 90 so you can skip everything :)

Sounds like just more of the same to me.

Felt the need to correct you, WoW is not a tiny MMO, makes it sound like you haven't played the game at all if you think it is "tiny". The vanilla world itself was huge, and with each expansion, new zones/continents have been added to make it even bigger. You should really give it a try for WoD, the new patch also made a lot of changes that increased the game's difficulty. It's worth it in my opinion.

I re subbed and am looking forward to new adventures in WoW. But I really wish the Garrisons weren't in the past on another planet. Kinda ruins the vibe a bit for me...

"You guys wanna come see my garrison?"

    "Sure where is it?"

"Oh, it's in the past on another planet"

I am not sure how any of these are supposed to be good.... the level 90 boost is a horrible idea. All of the others mentioned are kinda meh.

I do think the new lore sounds interesting, but all the others are meh.

He stated "tiny" because most of the game is useless now except for leveling as fast as you can to the current xpac.... I don't understand how people don't get that, lol.

WoW is just, idk even know how to say it. It's just goofy as all hell.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

Somtimes an MMO needs to die to make way for a new generation. For a new sect of players that no nothing of Xpacs. They just want to join and experience an MMO with the rest of the community. This is coming from one who started with the original WoW. EQ may be one to something.

    A few counter points:

Stat squish - yeah they lowered stats to the level of TBC... yet they also screwed with racial abilities and character abilities and ticked off alot of players.

Dungeons - 4 for leveling, 4 more at 100.. total dungeons - 8..... are you kidding thats less than half what TBC had... For all the money dished out to Blizzard from subscriptions and whats made from the Blizzstore you would think they could at least make enough content to hold us over for a few years. So whats with this paltry number of dungeons?

Garrisons - gold farmers will get more use out of these than most players. sure the buffs will be nice and the lil toys and rides may be kewl, but really... why bother? Id rather have a more robust story line with content that draws people in and makes them scream for more.. something i havent seen since TBC.

new character models - about time, however I would rather have seen an over haul of the engine to make the game look better over all. its severely looking dated compared to many games out now.

Im looking forward to this WoW expansion to see if its even worth paying attention to or if it ifs finally time to move on ... For me to stick with it Blizzard has to show me they deserve my money. I can no longer just give them money for crappy game content. Ill give it a month and see, if it blows, well, sayonara Blizzard, hello Final Fantasy 14 ARR.

Played: UO, LotR, WoW, SWG, DDO, AoC, EVE, Warhammer, TF2, EQ2, SWTOR, TSW, CSS, KF, L4D, AoW, WoT

Playing: The Secret World until Citadel of Sorcery goes into Alpha testing.

Tired of: Linear quest games, dailies, and dumbed down games

    Anticipating:Citadel of Sorcery

The combat remains the deterrent for me. I can't place my finger on where though. I loved Warhammers and I have no issues with many abilities. WoW just feels like an unexciting romp with old mechanics that aren't as polished as others have accomplished in recent years.

lol yeah but ive been a long time fan of final fantasy series so I figured it cant be any worse than the last 3 expanions in WoW.

Barely can wait to start playing, despite being terribly disappointed by facial surgery they did. I just hope they never remove option to be able to use old models UNTIL they fix this abomination. We would be all happy with more detail but not total change to physical look of heads, beards, ... and rest.

I wasn't a big fan of Cataclysm.  The level 80 zones were too constrictive and the underwater zone was just a drag.  Panderia was actually really cool.  Open zones, lots of space, plenty of content and you could tell they put a lot of time into the world, the NPCs and the everything else.  I think the difference is in re-writing the entire game world versus just adding a new zone.  Hopefully WoD will be more of the same as far as world buildling goes.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

Proof that Blizzard actually likes Alliance better: Racial abilities, they are buffing alliance more and nerfing horde races even more even though many already switched to allliance for alliance racials being way superior in pvp.

While the response is good and fluid, the combat itself is boring as shit.  Everything boils down to nothing more than a rhythm game where you try to push the buttons in the optimal sequence.  Yawn.  Not only that but they continue to "streamline" everything further simplifying the already simplistic combat.

    On topic,

    10) ookay, nice but managing my bags isn't exactly something I look forward to even if it is easier than before

    9) Another grind ala Farm 2.0.  Could have been great, but it's not housing, it's not optional, and it's just another grind.

    8) Complexity was nice.  It isn't just simple to understand, it has become so shallow that there isn't much point to it.

    7) They make new models, and the ability to turn them off is in the top 10 things to look forward to!?

    6) I'm not sure why people would get excited about how orcs look.  While better than before, they are more or less the same.

    5) Are we taking about the squish here?  Because that is little more than a temporary fix to an ongoing problem come about from poor design.  Not only that, look forward to smaller numbers...  ookay.

    4) Great if you are Horde, but if not look forward to being crapped on for another xpack.

    3) Probably the only thing in the list to get excited about, and that doesn't only speak to the quality of this list, but it also speaks plenty about the quality of WoD.

    2) Not sure what makes you think it is a return to classic lore, since when was classic lore about time travel.  While it may have existed it wasn't really a big part of the story.  It is basically a Horde history lesson, interesting for one faction and a pile of crap for the other.

    1) You know the game has gotten bad when the number one thing to look forward to is something that allows you to not play the game.
