This week's Microsoft $2.5 billion buyout of Minecraft made the appeal of the sandbox genre crystal clear; in light of that, is it any wonder game developers big and small are trying to get in on the action? Quickly gaining ground in sandbox enthusiasts' collective consciousness is ROBLOX Corporation and its attendant online entertainment site, ROBLOX.com.

Warning, downloading Roblox could put a virus on your computer.
Kids were playing it yesterday and I had to clean the hard disk afterwards of a virus.
Careful what games you recommend on this site.
Was it the game or the mirror? I know my son plays this all the time. Heck I think they even play it at school for what they call "brain breaks."
Kids these days.

Doubt the virus came from the game, but he also downloaded some free add-ons, most probably it was from the add-ons. Problem is if you let the kid play the game how do you prevent them downloading add-ons. The game is banned on my computer because you have no idea what a mod will do and there are a lot out there.
Unless mods are available and supported on any games site you are just asking for trouble.
My kids love Roblox. Unfortunately, I have had to ban it from our computers at home. Initially I had some intermittent, almost daily, almost predictable network issues which ground everything to a halt (even on a 50 mbps connection). I went through and ran traces, I was troubleshooting, and finally I realized that when the kids weren't playing on it, the network was stable. When they did, I would have these issues of it grinding the network to a halt.
Being the helpful person I am, I decided that I'd report the issue to them. Their response was basically "It's your router settings." I explained that Roblox was the only X factor in the equation. I tried multiple times kicking kids off it for 3, 4, 5 days at a time, and my network was fine. However, if I let them back on it, literally my network wouldn't last 24 hours. I've also allowed them to re-visit Roblox 3 or 4 times since (about 2 years ago now), thinking the problem would probably be fixed, but it's still there.
*Disclaimer* I do have 4 kids, and they all play on it at the same time. This may definitely be a factor. At the time of my original report, though, I did only have two of my computers connected to Roblox at once, so I don't see that as being a problem. They can all play Minecraft without issue so that's what they play now.
