Gotta find a new game.

I can't stand this garbage they called the NGE, infact I quit and my sub ran out on December 5th. Sadly I still need my MMO fix, but I seem to have been ruined on the great system SWG had. If anyone can suggest a good game for me to play I'd appreciate it. I need something with a deep crafting system, preferably a sci-fi setting though fantasy is tolerable. Also I've tried EVE and Anarchy and haven't been too thrilled with either of them, just to let you know before you suggest them. Thanks for your suggestions.

I'm in the same boat, and I haven't found anything.

SWG had the best crafting system to date, and nothing I've found can equal it.

    NGE Refugee.

Well as far as crafting goes Horizens by FAR has the best and most complex system, it is a fantasy game, has player housing a stuff. What sucks is I cant find a game that has "player controled" vendors

I went to EQII and WoW. WoW has a easy crafting system, EQII's is pretty neat and this class revamp they just did is worth trying out. I was a hardcore SWG player until the NGE, never thought I would like EQII.....but I do, kinda weird huh?

Honestly i can say i have tried almost everything, Horizons, Shadowbane, D&D online, PLaneshift, Saga of Ryzdom, Guidlwars, AC, DAOC, D&L (had beta key), IRTH online, AO, WoW, and EQII (all since Nov). EQII stuck for some reason, it is almost like SWG with the class system....even though its SOE I would still recommed it.

But still, I dont play it  half as much as I played SWG. God do I miss it.

Unfortunately my computer isn't up to snuff to run Horizons and I want crafting to be rich and complex, not easy and shallow. I don't want to deal with SOE again either, I had paid for a year of SWG two weeks before they announced NGE and I can't get a refund... I hate this, I mean I so want a good MMO, and Guild Wars just isn't cutting it. It's good, but shallow.

Good luck there... after playing any particular MMORPG for a duration (which means you actually enjoy it) Pleasing you in that department may be impossible. While away from SWG I myself had problems just picking up another game I thought would be even remotely close.

Matter of fact, I quit gaming altogether online after all that LOL, so I feel ya. All I can say is just kick back and watch for something that may be coming in the future, go back to SWG or play some BS that has a crafting system, UO from back in the day runs pretty basic and wasnt too bad on crafting but then again UO isn't SWG now is it :)

As much as I hate to say it you may find yourself reactivating due to a lack of any other MMORPG's out there worth playing or even remotely close to the old SWG.

Again good luck from a X SWG player/crafter and MMORPG gamer :)

I haven't been able to fill the void either. SWG was my first MMORPG (unless you count DIABLO II as a MMORPG), and I have since realised that the deep and rich gameplay it offered has spoiled me.

I have since only tried EVE-online (the free trial) and I didn't like it. I was shocked at the use of a time-based skill system, what terrible idea that is.... new players can never catch up to established players. Some skills take more than 20 days to learn... (and there's no way you can help advance your character other than waiting for the time to tick away). So, EVE is not my taste...

I've pretty much given up on finding another MMORPG. Nothing else seems worth it, so right now i'm going back to my old fav's like Battlefield 2, CS Source
