Hey guys, been thinking about the whole LA / SOE SWG rubbish and I have come to a conclusion that it is time to just move on and let it lie.
I hate SOE and LA for what they have done, and will never support any of there products again, but what can we really do. 1000's of negative posts and reviews have been placed on every site that sells the game, all of the forums relating to online games are full of negative feedback and warnings / criticisms of LA and SOE and yet, in the cold hard light of day, there is nothing else we can do.
SWG will stay until LA / SOE says so, in a form that will continue to milk fans and mugs of there money. After the way the fans have been treated, those who remained must either have more money than sense, or are completely addicted to the game and need to get some help, maybe mmorpg anonymous, or something like that. I personally do not understand how anyone would continue to give there hard earned money to a company that has such disrespect and contempt for its customers. This isn't a dig at anyone, just a personal opinion.
There is not a chance in hell that we could get every vet to cancel there accounts, and all the 'new' subscribers can read the reviews, thoughts and views of us, but ultimately must discover the truth about LA / SOE for themselves.
With so many new games coming to the front, I now intend to spend my money somewhere else. I will still continue to offer my experience and advice regarding SWG to anyone who asks me but for me, the game is dead, over, finished. Its relegated to my past and I am gonna devote my time to the future.
Lets let SOE and LA hammer the final nail in there coffins, lets face it, they are going about it the right way.

Though I hate to admit it but I think you may be right, I would love to think something could be done becuase I used to love playing SWG, I got so kooked to it. Honestly I tried to get used to the CU, which eventually I did, and so I was optimistic about the NGE, I didnt like the fact it was changing so much, but I gave it a fair shake, and played for a little while afterwards, but couldnt take it. I fear SOE/LA doesnt really care, and its going to remain the game it is until it dies, if it indeed does.

I disagree, after being bent over a table and shafted by $OE I doubt many others will be prepared to just consign it to a bad experience and let it go!
After $OE has been buried along with a ritual sacrifice of the Smedley beast and his evil minions I'll consider putting it in the past, but will still take evil pleasure in reminiscing about the saga.

I don't think it will ever be left alone, this business practice by $OE will serverly damage them in the long run with all their future releases. Twenty years down the line (if they last that long,) people will still be using the NGE as ammo to flame $OE regardless if they were even gaming back then or not.
It seems that $OE wants it to rest to because they realise their actions will ultimately effect all their future sales and generally they have lost their reputation in the gaming community. The only realistic way they will ever build their rep back, would be to get rid of all those upper management idiots are clearly clueless about games, and replace them with people who don't have their heads shoved up their fat asses.

The U.S. saved the world. Hands down. No contest. The world was on the ropes, near defeat, battered, smashed. Britian was thrown from Europe. France was conquered. China was near defeat. The United States came back and saved the day.
BTW every other nation had been begging America for their equipment even before we entered it, and we gave it to them.
To conclude, to say that America played a small part of WWII, is to portray yourself as either incredibly ignorant, or incredibly biased.

I am from the UK and my understanding is the USA saved our asses, and the rest of Europe. I think they provided us with supplies before Japan declared war on them too. To say the USA only played a small part in WW2 is just wrong.
The Nazis did touch American soil too, though I think it was mostly spies and stuff, which can be damaging to any war effort.
I understand it may be annoying to think that perhaps some Americans dont appreciate what the UK and other countries did in the war, especially when a lot of war films show the American perspective, but hey Hollywood isnt in the UK.
I dont know much about the American president at the time, maybe he was crap, but surely the only fair way of judging how good he was, was what he did for his own people. The USA wasnt obligated to save Europe, anyway they delivered in the end, so who cares.

Even though this is completely off-topic...
You are actually both right, the US was going to stay off the war in Europe, they were only cooperating with supplies and sanctions, then when Pearl Harbor happened they jumped into the melee and the rest we know.

Got to love ignorant Americans who still fail to realise the truth of WW2, you would have quite happily let Europe bomb the hell out of each other and if it wasn't for the japs, you would have never got involved. Still, you did save England and without your help, we probably wouldn't have won or at least have had some problems. I still don't see how you stayed out of the war for as long as you did.

Germany declared war on the USA in decmber 1941, the USA never declared war on Germany but forced Germany into declaring war due to the USAs flagrant breech of international laws concerning neutrality.
But without those breeches of international law I'd be speaking German right now along with the rest of Europe.

Scaramoosh, most of the time I respect your opinions even if we disagree but this time you went a bit too far. Your opinions of our leaders and our role in WWII are highly debatable and arguably have no place in this discussion. The earlier poster should not have brought it in either as a comparison but it was meant in a different route than what you took it. WWII took many lives and the price wasn't paid by a singular country hence the name WORLD WAR. Simplistic explanations cannot be applied to events of that magnitude. Please do not belittle the people who made the decisions and fought those fights. You are entitled to your opinions but stating them here only causes people to derail the thread and the message is lost in lock or hate.
Back to the subject at hand - SOE will have many debts to pay to ever restore customer confidence and the sooner they learn this - the quicker it will be for them. Sadly, I do not see this as happening until there are changes made at the top. I agree the hate has filtered into nearly every forum and it has gotten out of hand at times but their continued lack of acknowledgement helps spurs this on.

Just because Europeans couldn't live and play nice with each other did not make it our problem. Public consensus at the time was that we had wasted enough of our lives the first go round you guys had with each other in the twentieth century. Now we have to deal with the world hating us on one hand but begging us for our help every time someone has a hang nail that needs dealing with on the other.
As a result I will quite happily insult any idiot that insults my country would you not do the same? The part that cracks me up is he is doing it on a free service provided by Americans!

Come on people, let us not fight about WWII, this is not the time nor the place, this is about SOE/LA and how badly they have messed things up, let us not squabble and find common interest in hating SOE/LA for what they have done to the game we love, cant we all just... get along?
