Are there decent, open-world dungeons in ArcheAge?

Pretty much the title.  I loved the early days of Vanguard where you had these giant, non-instanced dungeons where there was always the threat of PvP.  Some of the dungeons were quite good as well.

Can AA deliver anything like this?

Thanks,

Chris

Nope all dungeons are instanced to your group only.  Despite what the "marketing" department is pushing archeage really isn't very sandboxy or open world at all.

Thanks!  I'll pass on it then.  And too bad!

you know what they say! "Don't nock it till you try it!"

I tried it, and my turn off was the heavy reliance on guilds. I dont have a problem with the social aspect of a MMORPG but it went beyond what i was willing to participate in.

I truly wonder if there's something wrong with peoples brains when they say they want open-world dungeons.

Sadly, MMOs are a huge time committment where you often never know exactly what the game will be like until after you've played it for a long time, and we only have so much free time in our life.  Sometimes hearing from others and knowing that you should just pass on an MMO rather than spend many hours getting to the end game and trying it out only to realize you hate it is a real boon.

Yes, maybe you're missing out on something great by listening to others instead of trying it out yourself.  But alas, sometimes real life restrictions just don't give you the time to try out everything.

They just want different gameplay than you do.  I hope you don't react so negatively to everyone who has a different opinion than yours because your life is going to be a hard one if you don't grow beyond that.

You are right, I am too busy to really level up a character in my small amount of leisure time in a game that has features that I really don't like.  I did try it for ten minutes or so, the initial quest driven experience reminded me of every game since WoW came out, and I really don't enjoy that kind of gameplay.  I'm more of an open-world, hard mode kind of player (like early EQ or Darkfall).

That being said, I am glad you guys are having fun and I hope you continue to do so!

No good dungeons. I really miss the early days of EQ2, no game since has come close to the same quality, diversity and scale of dungeons

Edit: If you know of any games that I must have missed, feel free to suggest them

Its only a matter of personal perception, i see AA very open world with sandboxy features game, so the markting around AA is correct to me.

If you're looking for a dungeon crawler, there are much better choices out there.
