Is the 250$ Redeemer that is now on sale a gunship ?
The price is a bit on the high side, but never the less it looks like a good buy, with LTI and good shields and powerplant.
Just the weapons are a bit meh.

Yes, it's a gunship. Think, Hind-D. I wouldn't ever really look at the weapons that are on a base model ship. Look at the hardpoints. You obviously want as many high level hardpoints as possible to give you options.
No, it's an overpriced bag of pixels. Don't fall for it.
Because they can.
Why do you care what someone else is doing with his/her money ?
Have fun

Doesn't forbid us to question, humor or comment about their lack of wisdom or common sense or perception altogether, it rubs a lot of people's minds wrong to see people doing such unintelligent things.
OK .. you want a reason ?
Here is one .. making profit.
Invest money in a ship and resell it on the Grey Market for a higher price.

There you have it. Its all about money.
Maybe thats an easier reason to understand than wanting to see something great come into being, or enthusiasm, or helping to change the face of the video game industry and its endless line-up of sequels, or nostalgia about the games of your youth, or sharing excitement with like-minded individuals ....
Yes, definitely ... its all about money ....
To the original poster ...yes, its a gunship. Here is the original description:
"The Redeemer gunship by Aegis Dynamics features a unique set of reverse poly-vector tech engines. The unconventional design may appear unwieldy, but has been proven time and again to deliver exceptional performance. Coming standard with a multi-turret weapon system in addition to twin missile bays, the Redeemer can stand its ground against other fighters while offering high speeds and maneuverability."
The comparison with the Mi-24 Hind gunship helicopter is a good one. Heavy shields/armor. Heavy weapons. Can carry a squad of marines.
Have fun
Of course it's about money, it doesn't make it less funny to humor as the way to make that money is buying a bunch of pixels that serves no purposes on their own, but hey, once it's about money making, everything is intelligent right? Let's go talk about those oil company who pollute our waters and how intelligent that is, they are making money so its unobjectively intelligent right? Have fun drinking that water.
Making money doesn't make the action intelligent, hence why people protest, and it's a freaking good thing people protest on those things otherwise we'd be surrounded by the worst kind of situations in the world, so every protesting against such things, no matter how small or big they are, is a good thing, because that thing might seems small, but it's bigger than what you see, this will develop mentalities and habbits, things we do not want to see growing as a healthy society.
The LTI seems like a good deal but than I remember this game is going to continue growing and in 6 months after it's released what are the chances you will still be flying this ship? This would be like buying life time insurance on a T1 crusier in EVE. It would have it's uses for sure but long term the ships released now are going to get outclassed but future versions.
The Redeemer just got some more teeth:
"Redeemer Stat Update
As promised on yesterday’s Reverse the Verse, the team at Foundry 42 has re-examined the Aegis Redeemer’s weapons load out with an eye towards giving it some additional teeth. This update reflects our desire to position the Redeemer as a heavily armed gunship with a strong military focus. The Redeemer is also an effective landing craft, used to carry UEE Marines into action (as seen in the recent FPS demo.) If you’re interested in picking up a Redeemer, it will include LTI through Monday, November 10th!
Updated Specifications
All specifications are subject to change for game balancing."
Have fun
I agree. Now it will perform accordingly to the amount of moneys payed for it.
CIG had an imense backslash for selling an underpowered ship for 250.
People spend money on these things because they hope to have fun with it/them.
Having fun and being happy is what most people want on a day-to-day basis.
So they have more fun if the ship have more guns ? Interesting ideea.
