Archeage, do you like it, tolerate it, or hate it - and why.
What are your favorite characters and what are their abilities that you like?
What would you like to change in the game?

I like the ease in solo leveling [with the proper class mix and gear]. Good graphics.
So far, because of my play style, my favorite player is an Infiltrator for solo grinding [though other builds are useful, and different builds are important to add in groups], fighters are important in ship take over for example. [Note: my Infiltrator is spec'ed in Sorcery, Shadowplay, Archery - in that order, and he burns and shoots and kills mobs before they can get to me, no kiting.] There are several good builds that allow you to solo mobs while grinding to level up, for me, the Infiltrator is one of them - at about level 18 to 30 have good weapons adding gear as you level up to make you more powerful.
I dislike the land grabs that gobble up land faster than a coke addict can snort, leaving most people unable to get land. I dislike the high cost to gear up players [most are not rich]. I also dislike having to play a game that is still in beta but released to the public, which is what is going on with Archeage - I know this is a common practice, but I do not like it. Also, in this free to play game you can't own land unless you pay ---, and pay for a host of other things you might need, like adding more than 2 characters to a server [even for the paying customers]. There are too many things you have to pay real money for in this so called free 2 play game from Korea.
The game is somewhat demanding and you will need a relatively powerful PC if you want to see all of the eye candy and still want 60+ fps at a screen resolution of 1920x1080. There is a massive memory leak in the game and if you set your screen vsync [60 fps] fps what renders at 86 to 88 fps with vsync off will result in about 46 fps, I have not found a problem when frame rates are ~ 120+
There is much more, but I do not want to write a book. Bottom line, fun to play - DEVs please do not destroy this game.

The game seems pretty healthy to me.
I tolerate it, it's not great but it's not awful.
I try healing, and I like it alright, but I think two damage classes would be better than one and a healer.
I can't imagine still playing a month from now but it's ok. It's like a job sometimes, and not a good job, more like shoveling cow manure type of job.
It really only makes sense to have one character because you can be everything but I have a second that's approaching 50 too. So I guess I can't call the game a failure.

I feel indifferent towards it. It hardly brought anything new to the table. It wasn't nearly as amazing as some people advertised it - here on these forums. Flash in the pan.
I wasn't expecting anything so I wasn't disappointed either. If somebody likes it, good for them.

You can spend over 20k gold or more to max out your weapon smith crafting skill, or you can spend 1 week or less and get a better weapon than what crafting can offer you. What a joke.
I enjoy this game to a certain point, EVERYTHING revolves around labor points. So if you're not a subscriber or one rich dude, then you'll suffer a lot. I would of thought a better plan would be to lose the LP system for paying members because well they're PAYING. Restrict the non subscribers as is, so they will buy store credits to make gold.
Here's the break down to leveling up (if you dont want to get ganked and pk'ed all the time). Level up to 30-31, then just run your daily MENTEE/MENTOR quest (approx. 20% exp per quest) while you're on downtime from dailies. Make money by doing trade runs or use up your labor points from farming etc. Once you reach level 40+, its all trade runs and being a mentor to max level.
Get to max level, don't want to spend 15k+ gold for your top tier weapon? No problem farm hasla kills for your weapon. You can get top tier crafted armor for fairly cheap at the moment, or you can run through GHA to get your set. But you certainly most likely will not get a GHA set unless you have a good weapon because you got whiners about wanting players "who know" how to do the instance and kill fast.
Once you star getting bored and want to max out your other classes....buy some stacks iron ores, pop a vocation potion, and convert into ingots until level 30 or until max level. I recommend doing trade runs at 30+. Rinse and repeat.
Kay...or you can just find a weaponsmith who did all the hardwork for you and just give them the mats and a tip to make w/e weapon you want.

except if you had any fucking knowledge of how the crafting works you would realize it doesn't work this way. Any weapons or gear made after level 44 is all RNG based. You don't just get the item you want, you get a random item out of 5 choices that might be the set piece you need, and if it fails you have to recraft all the items up to that item again, going through the rng process from 44, 50, and 50 tier 2 / 3. So as his point stands, unless you have thousands of gold or real life money to buy gold you are going to get your hasla weapon.

What does any of that have to do with you getting the mats and giving them to a weaponcrafter and having them craft thus meaning you don't have to farm for Hasla weapons or spend crap tons of gold and time and labor to level a retardedly difficult craft? Nothing? Oh okay. So you're just bitching just to bitch? Okay, got it.
Also thousands of gold to craft a weapon? Hardly. You can dismantle them to recoup most of the mats it took to make the weapon in the first place. Just need 3 of the weapon i believe.

This is what always blew my mind in todays' MMO-crafting.
"I'm a mastersmith with decades of experience which had me ascended to craft the best weapons on this very continent. Altough the materials you brought me are of the finest quality the outcome may be totally random because I have still no idea what I'm doing..... derp-derp-a-derp"
Like wtf??
Winning a discussion is not what it's about. If you could pass insight to someone or learn something from it in return - noone can really loose, can they?
Said no game ever. Don't try to pretend like MMOs make it out to be that player crafters are gods gift to the world. Often times those titles belong to npcs who make legendaries and shit for us.

Actually, often the thing gets crapped out from a boss's (or sometimes normal enemy's) corpse and you gotta wonder, "how the hell did that get there?"
(Sometimes instead, if it's a logical piece of the enemy's equipment, you instead have to wonder "Who crafted that thing for that guy, anyways?" I remember a dungeon in an MMO that was a tomb filled with skeletons armed with swords and guns and I was all "Why did they bury these guys with all these weapons?")
Pro tip, don't take everything someone says 100% literal. So you named the vast minority and think its the rule rather than the exception? That's not how the real world works. WoW, MS, Allods, Tera, LOTRO, SWTOR, EQ, Aika, L2, PW. Just a short list of the many games off the top of my head that i've played where what I said holds true.
Have I played games where crafting can make the best items? Yes. Does this mean that thats the norm? No, in fact very few games is this even a fact.

I have yet to find a compelling reason to play it, and I prefer sandbox MMOs. Reason is that I have no interest in farming, what so ever, little interesting in crafting and naval combat. And the PvP in this game I have not found compelling either. Seems just a bunch of ganking?
And the combat, good lord, is this 2005?
My gaming blog
"Never tell a girl she should lose weight."
Do you think someone literally means you should NEVER tell a girl that she should look into losing weight when they say that? No, they're exaggerating. It's not my fault if you can't use context clues to figure simple shit out like that. If you go back and read my post you would have found them.
Since you didn't, i'll even point them out to you. "Often times those titles belong to npcs who make legendaries and shit for us."
Often times. Meaning not always.
"Don't try to pretend like MMOs make it out to be that player crafters are gods gift to the world."
This sentence here, showing the specific point i was making in the first place. Which wasn't saying "no game ever had player crafters make the best gear"
So essentially, what you claim i said, i never even said. You just assumed, because you didn't actually read/comprehend my post.
