Last week we had our first impressions of Deck 13’s Lords of the Fallen, an obvious homage the punishingly difficult action RPG Dark Souls. In our final review we explore the ups and downs of the game now that we’ve had time to finish it, and while it never really reaches Dark Souls heights, fans of the genre will likely find a lot to love. Read on for the full review.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

Who on Irf told you that? It is designed for use with a controller, if that's what you mean... but with a $14 wired controller it plays perfectly.
They are a bit atrocious. I keep trying things out but it is very clear that a controller is the best option for both Dark Souls games. Which is a shame because I just can't get the hang of it.
Still, the latest dark souls has much better pc controls than the first one.
Other than that I recommend Lords of the Fallen if you like "hard" games.

Yeh that's the thing. When I buy a PC game, it is because I want to use a mouse and keyboard along with the nice graphics my comp can provide. If I wanted lower graphics fidelity and/or to use a controller I would buy it for my PS3. However, my PS3 just serves as my Blu-Ray player and Netflix streamer now a days. I guess I will always prefer my PC over consoles. I'm glad this game came along and I will take your recommendation into consideration. I just have to decide if I want to get this one, wait for Dragon Age 3, or get Shadows of Mordor. I have a feeling no matter which I choose I will be very happy.

Both games handle like garbage with a mouse and keyboard. Of course, I can't fathom why anyone would want to play a game like this with a mouse and keyboard when you can just plug a controller into a USB port.

Played it without issues with mouse+keyboard.

Shadow of Mordor is not like this. It's a good fun game but not even close to being "Hard".
Dragon Age 3 is again a different beast. If you want to play it on the highest difficulty then you don't need to learn the enemies attacks and movements or need twitch reflexes but use tactics and planning to your advantage. It is also the most story-telling and RPG'ish game of the three in my opinion since it involves multiple characters to level up and use spell combos using them as a team, etc.
Lords of the Fallen is what everyone says it is, a game like Dark Souls. It has very good RPG elements but only limited to the way you level your character. Story is average but the place where the game shines is being what it is in the end, a "Dark Souls" genre game. The weapons and armor look brilliant and your attacks and defense have a weight and swing on them and boss fights are hard (although the difficulty curve randomly spikes or drops).
Honestly, you should look at what type of games you enjoy before buying either of them.
My opinion? If you have to only get one game? Dragon Age 3.
I've played quite a bit of Shadows of Mordor and have enjoyed it. I haven't finished it yet but it's a bit shallow. Fun, but shallow. Lords of the Fallen is also fun but also feels a bit shallow.
Bioware's games, even if people are more "pro" the Baldur's Gate years, have always been more captivating and satisfying for me.
I recommend both Lords of the Fallen and Shadow of Mordor but only because they are like candy. Very tasty but not very nourishing for those who are looking for a captivating story.
Now, having said that, I am not very far along in Lords of the Fallen but at this point it is very "story lite" and given the few interactions with npc's I doubt it will be very deep. It's fun, not deep.
Just my opinion.
