Star Trek Online: Bonus Episode to Launch November 13th

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

Cryptic Studios has announced that it will be launching a bonus episode for Star Trek Online on November 13th. Called "What's Left Behind", the episode will feature voice acting by Robert Picardo and promises to answer mysterious questions.

Your feedback on the story has been overwhelmingly positive, and everyone on the development team wants to continue delivering the story content you've asked to see. While you’ve been on an amazing voyage through the quadrant, the team has been hard at work to bring you the next chapter in the Delta Rising story arc.

Those of you who have finished the Delta Rising missions may have noticed that there were some questions left unanswered, some mysteries unsolved, and a last minute reveal that begs further examination. You won't have much longer to wait.

Find out more on the Star Trek Online site.

From what i've been reading this xpack has been a big failure for players and a big money win for the company. Everything in it  is to get you to spend real money.  Content is free but gear and ships are not.

Most of my friends that played STO stopped the second the high end ships had to be bought for real money.  They are boycotting STO (likely to never play again unless PWE stops the Pay-2-Win crap.  Even I refuse to touch it now and I love Star Trek.

Honestly, they had to do something.  Most of the people left playing are either F2P or lifers so revenue is drying up.

Step One: Play game for free to earn dilithium.

Step Two: Exchange dilithium in game for Zen.

Step Three: Buy whatever you want without spending money.

    It's really not that hard.

Generally speaking, I've enjoyed the new content.  The stories are pretty good.  I'm not that impressed with the intelligence officers, but the rest of it has been pretty good.  Definitely worth playing for free.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

Where did you read such untrue nonsense?

AS was said before, Get dilithium, exchange for zen (premium money) and voila... you get anything from the store.

Is a fun game to play and be around 1 or 2 hours a day.

    With earlier advice being legit...

You do not need the store bought ships to play the content.  Not at all.

    Is it easier?  sure.

If you like the game, you can do just fine not having spent a dime.  You can build a good ship without spending money.

Yes, it will be more difficult.  If that's pay to win to you(fair enough), then either follow the previous advice or good luck trying to find another game that's F2P that isn't "pay to win".

The DPS elitist crowd taking over the game would disagree with you. Good luck with your t5 ship finding players that will group with you on elite settings.
