Is this as good as say..A large minecraft server with MMORPG addons?

I've been looking for an online sandbox game like this for years.

Something like minecraft but very open world with a good leveling/class system.

Is this game open world or heavily instanced? and can I see other players cornerstones all over world and can they see mine, or is it a very sharded/instanced game?

It's FREE go try it.  The DL is under 500 Mb.  You'll be playing in less time than it takes for someone to reply. (and then it'll be pure perspective)

    Try Cubeworld clone.

    Not Minecraft.

It is very sharded/instanced, it has some fun elements but it is definitely not an open world minecraft-style mmo. You can get a good feel for the game in a few hours so its probably worth trying out.

The sandbox elements that I have experienced seem to happen more in "clubs" which are kind of like a plot on a minecraft server except its in a totally different "instance", is bigger than a plot, and from what I saw puts you onto a kind of island floating in space (but it is not in the open world, you can only see it once you teleport to the club instance). You invite people to your club and build stuff. There are a few things that I haven't seen in minecraft, like you can make balls to kick around and play with.

The other part of the game is like searching for dungeons to fight mobs and get loot/blocks. I had maxed out my class before getting to any of the dungeons that needed to have a group to do, so I guess the main progression is via gear.

It seems cool, despite the blocky models it's a pretty attractive game. I haven't gotten far into it because the server lag was turning me off. Dungeons feature elements like flamethrower traps and spikes, and more than once the lag rubberbanded me backwards during a jump between platforms and resulted in my plummet to the spikes below. If it weren't for the lag the dungeons would be fun.

The mining/resource gathering is as is to be expected from a sandbox game, enjoyable for me, and I like the system they used for Cornerstones, being able to effectively carry your house around with you. Classes seem limited to start with but of course you can unlock more. I have enough fun whacking things with my sword.

Building feels a little limited, I think the controls could be tuned a bit to make it more fluid but I have a feeling that's going to be addressed.

As someone who never played Minecraft very much I'd say it's good. When Landmark is released, however, I probably would spend more time in it.

Playing this did make me think it would be awesome if they'd make a Terraria MMO.

Played: DAoC, AC2, WoW, CoH, GW, GW2, WAR, AoC, Champions Online, Rift, Dragon Nest, Vindictus, Warframe, Neverwinter, Dungeon Fighter Online

Currently Playing: Dungeon Fighter Online Global

    Waiting for: None

I personally couldn't get over how shallow the combat system felt, as well as the lack of progression/customization options for your character. Seems like everything revolves around gear (something I hate) and after you've completed a handful of dungeons on the same class, it just gets repetitive. To be fair, I love the dungeon design and it was fun seeing how varied some of them are, but I'm just not sure I could ever get seriously invested in a game where you only get 3 skills per class. I understand they're trying to keep things simple -- and I have a hunch they will be releasing a staggering amount of classes overtime in their store, seeing as how simplistic each class is -- but I still feel like they could have went a little deeper without compromising that simplicity. Even just a passive skill tree or special weapons that change how your skills work, would have been nice. Or maybe letting players unlock and choose three different skills from a pool of abilities, to allow for more playstyle diversity within each class..

Disclaimer: I haven't really played a whole lot, and it's been a few weeks, so these were all just my initial thoughts when I was messing around with it.

I stopped playing because my 6y boy ruined my homeworld, I lef him with the game on and I had the really smart idea to teach him how to "delete" and he deleted almost everything. and making some huge holes and tunels. I Had no idea to to salvage it.
