Just got an email and got my Early Bird $30 Alpha. It's only available for first 100 (although even $40 for an alpha seems like a steal these days).

Got an email too and backed for the 2nd time instantly
I'd like to see anyone try to deny this is a sandbox!
I know, right? It's like UO meets Minecraft, lol. I'm really hoping that my kids like it, so I can have them manage my shard for me

One thing that's making me hesitate is they said their funding goal is enough to help them make an alpha. So...What happens then?
My guess is another kickstarter if they cant find someone else to fund them.
The one thing they're really missing here is milestones. I love the tiers they've got up there right now, and I'll advocate the bejesus out of this game simply because I think it's got a ton of innovation to offer. However, they really need to get some additional offerings out there.
First, they've gotta have milestones, like get to 200K and we'll implement this into the final game. Secondly, I've seen this really cool thing where a game will offer to extend the tiers with digital goods when they hit certain milestones, like X number of backers, or X money raised, etc. So it might be a piece of armor, or a digital map, or a soundtrack, or something from the game. Either way, it's a pretty cool way to do it. Also, it creates that sense of urgency to just do it already!
Also, Pillars of Eternity created a dungeon where every X amount of money, they'd add another level to the dungeon. That's a pretty cool concept, and it also offers the funder the ability to directly impact what will be in the final game. It could seem pretty arbitrary, but it's an interesting concept anyway.

In that case I give them points for their honesty but it seems like it would be much safer to wait and back the second Kickstarter.
Supreem just mentioned that they we will be adding stretch goals soon , for past the 50k Mark, in a video update.
I just cancelled my $30 early bird pledge. grab it up someone!!
after some further reading, i will wait for the next kickstarter. i dont have the time anyways right now to play alpha/beta
