Bungie has released a new demo version of Destiny for XBox 360, XBox One, Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. According to the FAQ, the demo allows players to experience snippets of the game features including character creation, social aspects, missions and progression.
When I’m ready to buy the full game, will my character progression be transferred?
Yes, assuming you purchase the full retail copy of Destiny on the same console platform family you played the Destiny Trial or Demo on. For example, you may not transfer your progress from the Destiny Demo on Xbox 360 to the full retail version of Destiny on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3.
Progress is always shared automatically within the same console family on the Destiny servers. No action on your part is required.
Read the full FAQ on the Destiny site.
UPDATE: In addition to the above, players who have already purchased or who purchase Destiny Expansion Pass or Destiny Expansion I: The Dark Below prior to January 15th will receive the EV-30 Tumbler Sparrow hover bike.

It's not a platform on which Destiny can be played.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is the type of newspeak we are expected to buy into. ALL platforms. Feh.
No PC does NOT equal ALL platforms.
I'm still waiting for the dance dance Destiny revolution release date.

While we're at it, why don't we include Nintendo 3DS, iPhone, Android, PS Vita, Sega Master System and NEO GEO? *facepalms*
Now perhaps we can discuss the demo, not semantics?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sega Master System the feels!
Good to know i'm not the only one.
They did that before though, so it was not completely surprised.

You mean it's not a platform that the devs ported it over for, hence it's not available for ALL platforms. PC's are far more powerful than any console system will ever be.

Yah yah, PCs are superior blah blah blah. Gets old hearing that, I almost cringe any time I see it in the comment section of any site.
They technically are... What do you think the game was made on? That's right, a PC

There are plenty of websites that cover the console games. MMORPG should not lower itself discussing these games and stick to the PC platform. Consoles are just so limiting.
With all the new games coming out, the Destiny servers are emptying out already anyways.
The PS4 actually has several succesful MMO´s on the platform.
DCUO, Final Fantasy XIV and soon Planet Side 2 will join the fray. And more on the way in near future, like ESO and EQNext.
Go try play FFXIV on PS4 and come back to me and still tell me consoles are too limiting.
I can play FFXIV, one single account, one single sub fee, same server, same character on both PC and PS4. Seamlessly switch between the platforms.
The Control scheme on PS4 is incredibly intuitive.
There are a lot of dedicated players playing FFXIV solely on the PS4 and you don´t even notice.
This.
And honestly, would we want to?
So let's get this straight you don't think this site should cover console games because you don't like consoles. You also claim Destinies servers are "emptying out". Since you don't like consoles I think it's obvious you don't play Destiny and you have no clue what you are talking about.
Glad we could straighten that out . In the future just stick to your elite Pc games.
Sheesh!
At the end of the day a console is just a standardised "PC". Just like an Apple Mac.
Back in the day when the term "PC" was gaining popularity the test was: "Could it play MS Flight Simulator?"
Yes a PC can be more powerful than a console; but a PC can also be less powerful. Todays goal is usually less power ... as in Watts used. Power isn't really the issue - although the advent of 4k TVs creates a new challenge.
The problem - for developers - is knowing what internal system to design their games too.
The aforesaid MS Flight Simulator helped bring order to a chaotic mess; it heralded the rise of "Windows PCs". Yet with the rise of Android in particular coupled with TV "operating systems" (Symbian, Palm OS based etc.) and Linux is around as well of course things are again fracturing. Large tablets are already as big as small laptops - but most don't run Windows; and the rate of development, fall in price etc. is starting to look like a wave.
The issue isn't "power" - at the end of the day manufacturers have been chasing "less power" (as in using less Watts - the power bit is easy) - it is the internal operating system. The ability to run .... what?
I would go so far as to suggest that the future of "PCs" - as we have known them - face an uncertain future in the years ahead. And if you are a developer considering how to spend your development money consoles probably look a pretty safe bet.
