Get a Sound Card and Surround Speakers: I Ain't Kiddn

truenorthbgtruenorthbg Member Posts: 1,453

My gaming and movie experience has been enhanced incredibly.    Movies, gaming, and music from the PC is so much more immersive with a "decent" sound card and surround speakers.

My performance in games such as Vanguard is also better from it.

I suggest for Christmas you treat yourself to a sound card and surround speakers.  The installation is so easy for a sound card:  no wiring to the power supply or anything like that;  you just snap it in.

So easy.

I agree. When I first experienced something like that, going back to the regular old sound system was just...boring.

I have huge subwoofer and some nice speakers, but the adapter for all that is broken, and I can't seem to fix it; but now I have some inspiration, and free time, so i'll give it another try.

Not sure if this is a precursor to a spam thread or not since it's bumping such an old post...

but your right, it won't help MMOs at all because your internet is much much slower.

You are limited to your ISP speed anyway - that is the bottleneck not your internal network.

Absolutely.  I learned early in life that sound is every bit as important as video.  I use Alesis Monitor 1 studio monitors, since I also use my PC as a DAW.  But even if I didn't, I'd spare no expense.  And as you say, positional audio will tell you things your monitor can't.
