KingsIsle has sent word that four brand new dungeons have opened up in Wizard101. The dungeons become available at four different levels that allow players to delve into them for epic gear and treasures. Players at the highest levels can even learn new "Shadow Enhanced" spells.
“After finishing Morganthe’s epic story line in Khrysalis, it was finally time to delve into some hidden reaches of the Spiral where there had been only locked doors or whispered rumors,” said Josef Hall, vice president and creative director at KingsIsle Entertainment. “Our players love conquering dungeons in the hunt for rare treasures, and we’ve answered that call along with epic new stories of enlightenment, intrigue, and reconciliation.”

These dungeons in Darkmoor are over-the-top hard. It's too bad that all the creative work from the writers, artists, and so on, will never been seen by most players in person because they are ridiculously difficult. And we can't forget that MOST of the 40 million players aren't in the community, so they won't see the ending period.
I understand it's side content, but this isn't difficult. It's insane. As others have said, this is a family MMO, Wizard101, not WoW (in which the drop rates are actually much better).
Normally, I love when KI releases dungeons. They're usually so much fun to do and farm, but this time KI took it too far. Even after many people asked them to make it easier, they didn't. Yes, it may be side content, but even though this is a family MMO I thought it was more focused on younger kids. My niece plays with me. She is only 7 and I can guarantee this is WAY too hard for her.
It's updates like these that cause the most outrage in the community and have everyone thinking KingsIsle does NOT listen to the players. Unfortunately, it was true in this case that they did not.
In test I made the mistake of trying to solo the level 60 dungeons with my level 97 wizard. Sounds like I should have been able to power through that right? Nope. I got my tush handed to me and had to utilize henchmen many times to get through it and I was exhausted by the end.
Now granted they are not intended to be soloed. The whole point is to encourage players to cooperate and to use teamwork to accomplish their goals and I think that is really awesome. Play styles WILL change and the cooperation has made us all better players. Brilliant play KI.
I am no hardcore player, just a long time one and I learn new stuff all the time and I make the effort to try to learn stuff from the fansite guides to educate myself and learn to be a better player. I just thought it seemed a bit too intense when a wizard 37 levels higher than the intended target cannot easily solo using a fire/life combination. Yea these are really for the hard core players. The average players will be walking away from the commons area wondering what in the Spiral just happened.
Now that the hard part is talked about......I just cannot get over how BEAUTIFUL the new dungeons are. As my wizard lost three levels in the test realm copy, I never got a chance to see Darkmoor yet so I have that to look forward to but from the screenshots I have seen I will not be disappointed. The other three are incredible. I am especially in love with Zigazag. It is beyond breathtaking. I have some screenshot plans with my new Spirit Wolf mount that I am itching to take. The artwork is beyond even KI's amazing standards and I just had to give a shout out to the wonderful work that was put into these dungeons. The writing and the puns?.........Brilliant as usual. I am still snickering over some if them and just loved the touches in the upside down pyramid. Lovely work all around.
Please Nerf the Darkmoor Dungeons, they take WAY to long, and there are way too many cheats in each battle. Your suppose to have fun with these dungeons not get a headache.
The darkmoor dungeon is split into 3 instances.
The first is 2 battles and 1 puzzle which takes about an hour at most.
The second part is 5-6 battles, a few mobs and then 3 boss battles. This one takes about 1-2 hours.
The last part where you fight Malistaire is 3 bosses, which takes about 3 hours in total. 3 battles for 3 hours? That is a little crazy.
Again everything about this update is great, but we need this toned down a little. I understand its suppose to be challenging, but when the majority of people are complaining about something usually something gets done about it. I would enjoy watching some KI Staff going through these dungeons on a live stream and see how many times they die.
Not even factoring in the the bad drop rates at the end of the final dungeon.
Sorry, but your post is pure nonsense. It is supposed to be a kids game and it is beyond hard for them. I tried helping them and they are just way too hard. Know the game's audience before you post something so ridiculous.
Really bad decision by the development staff, kids don't have that kind of time nor the skill to do dungeons like that. Kind of odd as it is not something they usually do, most of their updates are very kid friendly.

All this crying about the new 'raid' content being too hard. You might find a better experience with World of Warcraft, as they have a history of nerfing content for the bads.

beside level 100 post be powerful (now have shadow magic stat like: damage/resist/accuracy/critical/critical block/armor pierce)
now don't universe armor pierce anymore (replace shadow pips bonus so, shadow pips be faster cast then rating of 20%) now more better shadow pips percent!
level 100 dungeon drop post be hard (that what level 100 is) now shadow magic be more hard with in "shadow"
(beside new shadow enhanced spell) need shadow pips with it to "cast it" as well!
