SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

In a new post on the Dragon Age: Inquisition forums, Bioware's Mike Darrah lets PC players know that their concerns are being monitored closely and that the team is looking into several issues of specific concern to users.

With the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition, we've been hearing a number of concerns from members of our PC community, including:

  • Driver support

  • Hitching and frame rate issues in cutscenes

  • Feedback on keyboard and mouse controls

  • General user interface optimizations for PC

We've been following these issues closely and are looking into them.

Player experience is a top priority for us. Our goal is to address as many of these as possible in our upcoming patches, including some in our next patch, which is underway. We’ll release further details in the coming days and will continue to monitor your concerns.

Your feedback is important to us, and we appreciate your contribution to making Dragon Age: Inquisition a better overall experience.

I dont get it, I have 50 hours in DAI PC so far and am loving it. I have no problem with mouse or keyboard.

Kinda feels like a Bioware version of skyrim at times.

Look up the term, 'Anecdotal Evidence'

'Sandbox MMO' is a PTSD trigger word for anyone who has the experience to know that anonymous players invariably use a 'sandbox' in the same manner a housecat does.

    So in short

Hi PC players.. We did not have time to port the properly because honestly we do not really give a blue gerbil and it is easier to make the game for consoles. But since you are the people who built us to what we are today we will try and make the game playable for you.

    Enjoy..

Well... It is EA after all... Not sure why i am even the slightest bit surprised.

Ok that is a bit harsh but matter of fact is that EA is a lot better at making games for consoles then they are for PC and BW as a EA studio i guess have to follow suite. Fortunatley i will not be able to pick the game up until after new year so by then most things will be fixed.

This have been a good conversation

I would say it's much closer to ESO than Skyrim.

People are pissed because they almost completely threw out the old controls, UI, combat and consolized them all.

They also replaced the old single player rpg story focused gameplay for a F2P mmo tedious quest grind.

"Look at all this content we added. We have over 9000 quests, almost all of which are fetch quests and instead putting all the items in a tight area we spread them throughout the entire zone. This way we can claim that there is over 1000 hours of content. 90% of which involves running from point A to B and back again."

On a side note that crown they recaptured appears to be very tarnished.

Honestly, if I could get a refund I would.  I really wanted to play as a melee character but as it stands now its almost unplayable with a m&k, esp. with the wonky camera.  I don't care how good the rest of the game is.  If its clunky as fuck to play, then why bother?

I'm personally annoyed and troubled that they point blank lock out Core2Duo CPUs and don't even let people try and play it on low especially seeing as the BF4 engine works on those CPUs just dandy. It kinda stinks that some of us cannot play it till we upgrade our systems (in the works but still fine tuning parts to get) even if we are willing to accept it not being smooth, especially if all other system specs. beat down the other categories. Lazy port to lock several generations of CPUs out outright. People notoriously try and play games with systems below min. specs and often can and do for 2 decades now. I think this is the first game no one can do that.

You guys sure you are not getting Far Cry 4 and DAI mixed up?

I agree Far Cry 4 is totally unplayable, but DAI is amazingly fun and smooth with only one minor server drop today for 2 minutes.

There actually is a very good story in the game once you get past the first 3 ( tutorial ) zones.

Oh and import your custom world from dragonagekeep its pretty fun and influences the story and cast.

There they go, underestimating customer loyalty again. Sounds like a Dragon Age skin put on a totally different game.

having a great time with the game.  Controls and camera seem great and I can't stand when a game feels too console-y.  This definitely has a bit of a console feel in the menus but its not as bad as the elder scrolls games seemed to me.  but combat and camera works great for me except I think the tactical mode camera could use work.

Not experiencing any performance issues.  Voice acting and story elements are excellent so far. I haven't rolled out much beyond the main storyline but so far the game has been pretty satisfying.  Time will tell.

The game is still fantastic. There are definitely some bugs and optimization that should have been done before launch. There's no question about that. All things considered though, this game is still fantastic.

The hard part is getting developers to acknowledge problems and commit to improving them. Now that is out of the way, this game is going to be even more amazing very soon.

Just in case I needed another reason to buy this game for $20 on the next Steam Summer Sale, now I don't.
  • bebopdrumsbebopdrums Member UncommonPosts: 168

The game is fantastic but is SEVERELY HAMPERED by its absolutely horrendous camera. Its too busy, when you are running forward over uneven terrain, and you can never see enough of the game world. god forbid your enemies are above you. GOOD LUCK. The tactical mode is really sound and fun except the camera should be able to zoom much further out. Also, please, allow me to pick up or move to and interact with an item by clicking on it!! manuerving my character to the millimeters away i need to be in order to interact is frustrating and slow.

These points just seem to be so OBVIOUS...its a great game hampered by such stupid things, its almost romantically ironic.

oh and on a sidenote, raising my mesh up to high in graphic setting eradicated that horrible plastic hair effect.

  • kotzkotz Member UncommonPosts: 100

So... The performance is not 100% right now... But its still an awesome game!

Go cry me a river will ya =)

Im having some issues my self.. But ive been waiting for to long to cry and complain...

Unfortunately this kind of thing is becoming more and more common on new releases.

In a couple days you will all have forgotten.

Go outside while you still have the chamce :p

Dont talk about wanting a refund and complaining like that if you dont mean it..

If you do can i have your stuff?

Its funny you say that I had Farcry 4 free with my graphics card and its runs without any issues, but I msut admit tis not a very good game and have only maybe spent a few hours playing it..

I have not picked up Dragon Age yet as I have a feeling its going to be a bit too dumbed down for me to enjoy it.. still might wait for it to go on sale.

Got both far cry 4 and da i,  both play perfect, no issues playing with k/m!

Oh shocker a new game is out and people are complaining about it.  Next we will have the complainers using Metacritic as their "proof" the game sucks.  Followed by charge.org petitions , threats of lawsuits, demands of free dlc (if sub based game demands for free sub time) demands for refunds, cc chargeback, PayPal cancels on and on with the same garbage that every new game gets.
  • APThugAPThug Member RarePosts: 543
The game is good so far, but I hate the controls for melee characters. Plus for some reason raptr doesn't work with it when I try to play multiplayer. I keep getting an overlay error unless I kill it in task manager.

I say the same thing but it seems, from what I'm reading, people are complaining because it's not the type of control they like.

They are saying "it's a mess" when it seems that they just don't like/are uncomfortable with the more "actiony" combat.

No auto attack and there is a bit of rooting while attacking.

for anyone used to this it's not an issue. For people who aren't it is. Of course some are just going off the handle.

I´m enjoying the game A LOT!!!

Looks amazing, feels amazing and plays amazing!

I must agree PC controls are in need of some love... specially for melee players.

Good to hear Bioware is working on a patch to solve that!

Some better optimization would be nice too....other than that.... DA:I is an awesome game!!!

That's why I kinda like the US getting it first then they can fix things for us brits to play :-)
  • AdamaiAdamai Member UncommonPosts: 476
Tactical mode is shit the game is basically skyrim camera is clumsy to controll and whats with the over steer on chareter control! There is absolutely no precision control in the game. Falling off cliffs is getting tirng because of it.. And i imported my story from the keep and ummm when wil it show up in the game? .. Also charecters in haven are not visible in there places??? Major major issue for me and an alpha test problem ...loading times rediculous quests!!!!! I guess they got bored of making the game.. I am how ever enjoying the freedom of movement around the maps its nice not having my hand held down the quest path.. Findng some interesting things... The camps are kinda useless... That aspect needs plenty more love.. I was expecting to be able to upgrade camps and recruit locals to join the army and such. But no !!! So yea the camp idea is crap and needs fixing or removing. Haven is a great idea but if i must say should have been more like crossroad keep out of blizzards nwn 2 thats one type of game feature i love to see and it would work brilliantly in dai.. Why they have half arsed haven and other aspects is obvius to me the problem guys is EA not bioware. They made wopping mistake selling out to EA if only they chose blizzard or SOE instead lol other than those few massive game breaking issues im actually loving it hahaha how bizzare!!! The story is ace as usual for bioware. Oh yes one more gripe !!!!! Where the hell is the healer class..8 potions dont last 5 mins. And please! more armour skins.
