Good graphics. But dont think there is enough of anything else to warrent paying the money for the game and a subscription. Suggest looking toward other mmorpgs

The fact that AC2 sucks has nothing to do with a buggy/unfinished release. The core game mechanics to are just not good. They could have worked on AC2 another 3 years and it would still suck. Do not spend money on this game. I hung in there longer than most because I loved AC1 so much back in the days and wanted to give AC2's monthly content additions a chance. It turned out to be a complete waste of time and money.
Ok looks like I am going to be putting this on a number of these threads as the threads put similar points, so apologies if you have read it before:
Name the game which is better than AC2 for:
Graphics
Massive changes to game world on a regular bases without having to pay for a new CD.
Not bad solo, good grouping.
Best chat system.
Anything with better emotes?
Anything got a better hierarchical guild structure?
Quest count 74+ real quests. 80+ quests of those kill something then kill some of these type of mini quests.
Any games with more video (still frame) sequences?
Any game got a better crafting system?
Any game got a better transport system or mounts?
Dont get me wrong I dont think AC2 is the best at everything, but a solid all rounder which is good in almost all areas. I think EQ has a better community, Ultima Online better roleplay and DAOC better pvp. But think about those games, how many things are they better at than AC2 on the above list.
True every game has bugs altho this game was my first ever online game but it has great content for the low lvls and alot more comi for the mid and high lvls and its true that som of the huntin or quests somtimes become repetative if u have a good comunity it balances it out. For example b4 i joined the game i was usin the trial to play the game here and there finding out wat the game is and how its played, think of my position i mean this was my first online game im not used payin money over time for a game and now i will be!? i had to no first if its worth it, so at the last i joined this "allegence" as they call it from that day forward i was wrapped i mean i was playing like 6-10 hrs straight on weekends then i started playing weekdays and when the trial ended this time i couldnt just let it go i had to activate lol.
So it all really comes down to u, but my advice would b download the trial keep makin new accounts when one of em finishes altho ur gonna have to start a new whole character again who cares i mean ur playin for free hehe and finding out for ur self and judging it as u go along. What eva ur decision good luck and best of wishes.

Graphics = FFXI
Changes = Nothing, although it does mean they might just decide whatever class you have chosen is over powerd and nerf the hell out of it (to the point if it being completely useless).
Soloing = pointless in the higher lvls after they nerfed the tac
Chat system = Yes, AC2 has (hands down) the BEST chat system I have ever seen, same with the camera options, I really wish more games had these.
Emotes = I accually found the emote animations to be rather lame (unless you were a tummie, cuz then you could /follow and /atoyot and look like you were chacing someone )
Guild Scruct = Also very nice
Quests = Some very fun, some very pointless. It seemed about 50% of the quests people did not even bother to do because they did not give big enough bonuses. Also the temple quests are a HUGE pain now that tacs are gone.
Still frames = I didnt care for them, they explained the history, but there was no real plot involved
Crafting = horrible for higher levels, far too much time to invest for such poor return.
Travel system = Very nice, even though the terrian REALLY REALLY sucked (I got stuck on things quite often, rubberbanded, then died... very very frustrating). Mounts were also very nice, especally the hero mount which you could hotkey and use instantly to get out of combat ;D
I canceled my account after getting sick of hunting for hours upon hours with my Jugg. All the Tacs in my allig left the game soon after the patch (and were quite mad at me for laughing at them). I gave away all of my stuff and eventually my lvl 53 Jugg will be deleted.
This game is very fun, and is worth playing. However I dont think I will return to it until the admins start listening to their players.
Soloing = pointless in the higher lvls after they nerfed the tac
Soloing is not pointless, I spend about equal amount of time soloing as I do in groups. Xp is however better in group hunts. Tact was way too powerfull. It was the only class that could easily solo kill group monsters. I made a tact after the nerf and I enjoy playing it.
Crafting = horrible for higher levels, far too much time to invest for such poor return.
They will completely change crafting in january and february.
I've been playing AC2 for 4 months now and I still enjoy it very much. I love the fact that new content is added for free every month. I do recommend this game.
When life tastes like lemmon, take tequila and salt.
When life tastes like lemmon, take tequila and salt.
.. and tacts were changed in the latest patch, they are much more versatile now, with faster walls summoning and with turret reset timer at 10 minutes. I can only recommend this game, so much stuff was added in last 3 months that this game is completly different then it used to be.
Beta-tested this game and decided I would never buy it. Graphics were okay, but the skill system was very lacking. I think the developers took shortcuts, probably assuming that a new unsophisticated audience of gamers would flood the market and buy up their new game.
To this day, I don't hear too much about AC2. In fact, I hear a lot of folks have returned to AC1 because of this game.
I would have to say no, don't buy this game. Its simplistic and yawn inducing, a constant mind-numbing level treadmill. All aspects of this game, pvp, crafting, etc., that are suppose to save a level treadmill game are lacking. Graphics are the only saving grace for this title. Boring, bland, blah, barf. Simplistic garbage.

Well dude, if a lot of people already told you (before you made this thread) that this game sucks and is boring. There's a reason they told you that. Because this game sucks and is boring. I personally would not use a word like "sucks" to describe it. I would use the word "incomplete". AC2 is an incompleated new game. Sounds like an oxymoron eh? How can something be new if it is incompleted?
Don't waste your money. Or... do waste your money. Some people really do enjoy wasting their money believe it or not.
Read the AC2 game reviews at this here site for more info. AC2 was only 20% finnished when it was released and sold as being a NEW product. People who buy it are sending the WRONG message to gaming companies. (or the right message? "Hi! we really are as gullable as you think we are! We will fork over full retal for a new game that is unfinnished! Please start doing this more often in the future!")
This thread can be instantly ended by asking one little question and daring anyone to answer:
Q: How many players/accounts does AC2 has?
A: [silence as no one dares come forth to answer]
If anyone can answer this question, and post the link to the proof (in a game magazine, game site, or a screenshot from the AC2 game itself) then I'll stand corrected.
Last time I played AC2 there were 12,000 accounts. LOL.
Why do AC2 fanboys continue do live in denial? For the same reason some people like S&M.
Some people just enjoy latching onto a lost cause.
