I think if I pick up any new game, it is going to have to be DDO. I like the system, I love the pen and paper game, and it just sounds like a lot fun. Plus I have heard more good then bad about it. So DDO gets my vote, and probably soon, they will be getting my money

I would have to go with Age of Conan, I think Im ready for an MMO with a darker feel to it. One that doesnt shy away from mature content. But I really have to wait to see what the game play looks like, although I like what they have said about their combat system ... I suppose well just have to wait and see

You heard more good about DDO than bad? Man, you must have selective reading skills or something.
And... I pick Hero's Journey, but you neglected to list that one. Close second is Chronicles of Spellborn, but you neglected that one as well.

I 100% agree... how could you forget to include Hero's Journey? That and Spellborn are the ones I really can't wait for. I'm in MMO limbo until they come out.
I agree. This poll is null and void without Spellborn, The Chronicle and Heros Journey, which will rock the world out of any of those games listed here.

I havent read much about some of those games, but I chose autoassault beause its different, and if its done right, its going to be good. I already have EVE and DAOC to fulfill my Sci-fi and Fantasy needs.
Honestly I'm not going to hype up any one of the new games coming out until they have been tried and tested.
I have to agree with a few of you. DDO is horrible. Only my opinion though. Some may like it, and best of luck to you. But to me the interface was not friendly, the graphics were ok, the gameplay seemed really limited and boring to me. To me it felt like Guild Wars that's going to have a monthly fee to play.
In order of preference...
Pleasing to see AoC is highly anticipated. It looks to me as though it could be the sleeping hit for 2006, lets just hope FunCom stay focused!

Why?
I really really wanted to like DDO, but I tried the beta and I just can't. It's a cool game, and I'm sure some people will like it so I dunno about it flopping, but not for me. Yes, it uses DD rules, but the game in general is uninspired. It's boring, all instanced and extremely repetative. I was hoping it would bring along some of the fun of pen and paper but it seems to me that's exactly what it left out.
I'm personally waiting for Tabula Rasa and Huxley. But I never give a game credit till I sit down and play it. Hype can be misleading.

i have been reading up on Age of Conan, and have been comparing it to Darkfall
+ on Conan's side is graphics
+ story maybe
overall however if both games have what they promise they will at launch Darkfall is far superior to AOC in terms of PVP and skillsets, even crafting and overall player freedom.
AoC will be a good game in my mind, we will see

Meh, I'm just playing around with every game until I find the right one to last me until LOTRO, but at the rate that game is being developed.. it'll be a while.
