Last night the 2014 edition of The Game Awards was held and it was a super night for fans of all genres and platforms. The winners were announced, some of which are well-known to our readers. Among others, Dragon Age: Inquisition took home Game of the Year and Best RPG, while Destiny brought home Best Score and Best Online Experience, and HearthStone took the Best Mobile/Handheld title.

How does Super Smash Bros get two nominations for different platforms?
And they got the Street Fighter IV title wrong. It's "Ultra" not "Ultimate".
There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.

Isn't that always the case with these award shows? There are precisely two ways you get to win: you're backed by a strong publisher or you're an indie darling/you raised enough controversy to make the list on notoriety alone. It's why already disappearing medium-size studios and their games always get shafted, because they're caught in the middle by default. I'm kinda amazed Divinity: Original Sin even got nominated when it was obvious to everyone that Dragon Age: Inquisition would take that award.
I think people that are complaining about the results are part of the minority. In the end, does it really matter who got first place? If you enjoy the games that were not even nominated, does it mean that your game is inferior and you should stop playing it? I think, the results are somewhat accurate to what I've picked up by playing these games.
The award for best online experience going to Destiny, i'll admit is a spit in the face to mmo's. Allow me to speak logically for a few lines. Destiny is one of the biggest released games of this year and I've never had any issues playing online. The biggest thing, I had more fun playing Destiny in the 2 months that I played then in a year playing any given mmo. We complain that the mmo genre is dying and in need of a revival in the industry. Soooo, i'm not surprised. Also note that Destiny could potentially not win that same award next year. Hopefully an mmo can take that spot next year.
Anyways...
Sad but mmorpgs are already dead

Funny you mention that:^^^^^
Why not play your PC games on your flat screen?
Certainly some strange choices in my opinion: Almost seems "bought"
The awards never really come into my buying experiences anyway, but I'm unhappy I missed the awards and haven't had a chance watch yet.
This. It is fun to have your opinion validated, but really... your own opinion should be all that matters.
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

All these rewards should get is a huge ROFL. About the only good game on there is Dragon Age and I am not sure it is the best game out there.
I don't know why they even bother.
