    Well then you are foolish.

I'd appreciate you at least explain why and not just throw around insults. But let me respond anyway.

Only picking targets that your ship is made to counter equates to hitting dscan and either choosing to engage or not. There are many cheat sheets avaliable that will tell you exactly if you should engage or not. I don't think reading off an answer sheet requires any brain power or player skill at all. In most cases players are not in a position where they can swap out their ship at a moments notice to engage a fit they can not possibly win against.

So If I am wrong please tell me how and respond in a constructive manner. Thanks.

I doubt many people in FW fight in anything beyond T2, if that even, and yes you should be able to earn enough ISK in game assuming you aren't just throwing away your ships.

OP does realize in EVE it's more important to not lose your ship than to try and win a hopeless fight right?

In EVE you don't fight for "fun", it's win or go home broke.

Back in Bob, PL and Ncdot we used to fight for lolz, and even knowing we would los ein the end just humiliate the opponent that was blobbing us 1:10 just by making them look bad.

So yes, there are ppl that PVP for fun. Could care less if my titan, super or whatever boat I own gets popped, as long as it isn't killed in a PVE session or in some retarded way like a bug or crash.

Ships are meant to be destroyed, ALL of them.

Cmon, you really going to pull this card?  You belonged to alliances that gave you ships, you had access to almost unlimited ISK, let's see you fight for fun when the ships value is equal to almost 1/2 of your net worth.

In your case the combat was meaningless, and there's no point to play then either.

OP is exactly right. Solo PVP in EVE is in fact "rock-paper-scissors" for the most part. If you are the rock, paper will more than willing to engage you and scissors will avoid you like the plague and because of the mechanics of the game it's near impossible to force anyone to fight.

Usually when someone who looks like a fair fight engages you they are bait for a gang waiting in the next system. While EVE has it's good parts, solo PVP isn't one of them.

I am afraid I was right all along and have wasted my time trying to get out of the blob and not have a FC basically flying my ship for me.

    Solo pvp in eve:

    1) Control+click ship in overview

    2) Press F1

    3) Wait

    ------

Outcome = Which ship type has the weapons or resists that counter the other, EXCEPT when one ship is fitted with more expensive modules, or is a faction ship that has a greater base price.

So its rock paper scissors + isk spent

In 2014 does a game without any player skill in 1v1 battles really have any future at all?

My Answer:  No. It will continue to loose more and more subs as it has been the last few years. Online player count is lower now than it has since 2010. CCP only makes small changes and will never reinvent combat mechanics.

OP I'm calling complete and total BS on you even playing the game. Either you never player or you are hands down the worst baddie to play EvE... EVER. And this applies to any joker making statements like yours

So you mean to tell us after 4 years playing EvE as you claim, the only thing you learned about PVP is to select a ship in the overview... click F1 and wait? Total lies, or like I said super duper BADDIE.

So after 4 years you never learned about angular velocity and its effect on turret tracking and how to pilot your ship to apply more damage, or mitigate damage by exploiting an enemy who is fitted with guns that track poorly?

So after 4 years you never learned that you can zoom in on a ship and see its weapons? After 4 years you never learned the visual difference between what a blaster looks like.. vs a lazor/beam turret, or auto cannons/arti or missiles? After 4 years you never learned that they all have different tracking speeds and ranges?

How about ammo? After 4 years of playing you dont change ammo mid fight depending on range and tracking?

How about tank? After 4 years did you learn how to tell if the enemy is active, buffer is passive tank?

You have to pick and choose your fights. you cant just run your ship into anything you know. That's the difference between the pro and the scrubs.

A smaller, cheaper ship can beat a bigger more expensive ship if you know what you're doing. It's been proven time and time again. If you havent figured out the BASICS of combat after 4 years then you better move on to another game there little fella.

Angular velocity ect can matter in some fights, but the vast majority of fights are based on ship type or a gank. I agree there are small things you can do to help you in a fight but generally it doesn't factor in at all.

Claiming you know if someone has played a game or not seems pretty sad to me. You seem so desperate to defend a game that most people find completely boring and empty. All the systems in eve are copy paste and the combat is simple and for people who don't want to have to be skilled.

Also skill points matter more than any of the thing you mentioned, it is a game where you have to wait for years of skill training to even be competive in more than a few ships so you are generally stuck playing the same styles.

Next time you respond to one of my posts please leave emotion out of it, because you seem extreamly upset that someone doesn't like eve, when infact most people hardly consider it a game.

When was this game released?  It's still going strong.  So complaining about the gameplay is moot at the least.

It has actually been slowly loosing players since 2010. I remember there being 50k+ online regularly now its between 25-35k. Do the math. The game has not been doing well and I wish it or another sandbox game would.

Eve isn't the game that most players want.

But it's the game they need right now.
