TheYear1500TheYear1500 Member UncommonPosts: 531

ED players are working together to increase the influence of the minor faction The Rise of Crimson State.  Players are doing this to see what happens when a minor faction is backed by a group of players.

I am not a Federation supporter. I am not an Empire supporter. I am not even an Alliance supporter. I am merely a freedom fighter for Lugh. I am not however above using them for my purposes.Lugh is a starsystem about 60 ly from Sol. Lugh is also a great solar deity of the ancient celtic world, eloper of Boann, son of the Dagda, father of Cú Chulainn, slayer of Balor and champion of Tara. I was amazed when I discovered him blazing on the starmap and as soon as I was jump capable headed out to bask in his masterful light. However, upon arrival discovered he has fallen victim of this 'worm' you call the Federation. Now I am his servant. Now I am his right hand. Now I am his 'spear of light'. Lugh will be free.Lugh must once again be free.I know now what I must do.I will lead others in this fight to free Lugh from the Federation.I am calling all alliance players and Empire players to blockade all traffic to and from Lugh in this Federation system. THe Federation must see that this system is no longer profitable and so not worth their effort. All Federation enemies are to direct their attacks in this system. If this persistant universe really works then FD will have to step up and take notice. WE can change this galaxy one system at at a time...

That's very interesting. Really curious to see where that concept can be pushed to.

Been watching this unfold and I am curious what will happen when around 50 - 60% for crimson state.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

The last reports state that it is up to 38%.  It is unknown what will happen if it keeps rising.

People have seen new missions forming, both for and against the Crimson State.

This is the future of gaming, where what you actually do as a player makes a difference to the environment and surroundings, be it for the better or worse.

I can only see good things for this kind of gameplay with E:D.

    I agree with you.

Game makers can never churn out enough interesting high quality content fast enough in a healthy financial way, so players have to be a part of the content in a shared universe. Plus hundreds of thousands of players will always come up with something crazier/more interesting than a handful of developers, any day, so its all about giving the right tools, the right environment, the right sandbox to make that happen.

I don't think E:D is that this point yet -- it isn't. But the emergent gameplay and options that are being built into it from the get-go is already very interesting and I dearly hope they expand upon it.

I've been keeping a distant eye on this while going about my business elsewhere. Given that the Emperor is due to die any day now (the smart money is on the 16th December ;)) leaving a power vacuum within the Empire which the Federation looks like it's gearing up to exploit, it'll be interesting to see how they split their efforts between the imminent war with the Empire and the bush war in Lugh.

No idea what's going to happen in the Empire once Duval dies, but there are already a few NPC faction leaders preparing to make their play for the throne. Knowing how popular the Empire is among the playerbase, and how powerful some of those factions are, whatever does happen is going to be messy.

    Messy and glorious ;)
