Anyone else playing mmorpgs they dont like while waiting for news of a rollback ?

I cant seem to find a replacement that even comes close to my old game. All I do now is playing a little of WoW then hit the forums after hoping to see some news of a rollback.

Im currently playing WoW. Im currently playing a rogue, got him to level 37. I use my 59 paladin to gather gold and gear for the rogue. I already have epic gear up to lvl 60 sitting in the bank waiting on the rogue to get high enough to wear it.

I run a few quests but that gets very old fast. Since its a level based game, Im limited on where I can go. There arent any side things to do like hunt for meat or hides. There isnt a house to decorate. There arent any mobs to kill for components to have a crafter make better gear for. There arent people in the taverns hanging out rping. In short, its just do quest after quest after boring quest. There isnt any downtime for other stuff really.

I miss coming back from the wilds in SWG loaded with that great spawn of wooly hide to sell. I miss having contracts with the better armorsmiths for resources. I miss running a real business in cyber world. I miss taking my jedi knight into the geo cave late at night to gather cubes for my crafting friends. I miss hanging in a cantina and chatting with a new player learning the ropes.

In short, man do I miss my game.

I play WoW praying for a rollback to Beta so I could see what bugs in that game LOOK like.

Call it morbid curiosity. Never seen one.

Im mainly just trolling. I cant find a game I can tolerate now. Occansionally, I will jump on WOW or COH and just make a new character. After that I get bored and come back to trolling. I need a rollback or pre cu emulator and I need it soon.....

Dude that is exactly what I have been doing lately, trying to play something till SWG goes back to the old way. I tried Anarchy Online last night(free trial), and after like 5mins I quit and got it off my comp.. I also was on CoH and CoV, but after the nerfs to all the classes, my friends left that to. And CoV got boring super quick(lvl 40 is the max atm and I hit that in like 1- 2 months).

I remember all I wanted was jedi, now, I just want master fencer back.

I have finished my Horde Hunter and now am dividing my time between Alliance Hunter and Horde Warlock. I like WOW and don't intend to shut that account down, it never crossed my mind. I do miss my MCH and the old SWG though, but I don't see any plans to implement my profession back in game, and I don't intend to follow any other Iconic one. Wish they rolled back to pre-cu or cu, I would return if so, and divide my time between the 2 games.

In short, I'm not playing any game I don't like, but I'm wishing SWG rolls back to play again my MCH.

I have been playing EVE. Has some crafting, and you can build a business although it won't happen overnight. I wish I learned about this game sooner to be honest. One market is cornered, Cap Recharger II blueprint originals, the only way to make copies, anyhow all the BPO's are owned by I think a single corp if not maybe more than one corp but essentially they have the market cornered selling an item for millions of ISK, the price seems pretty inflated for what it is. This is what I am finding to be the cool part.

There is essentially little PvE content, missions get boring real quick imho, and NPCs are pretty easy overall. PvP is where the funs fights are from what I hear. My skills suck and are based more towards non-combat at the moment so I don't know how that goes actually.

Well EVE is a PVP only game

PVE are only at stroid belts to stop you from mining solo, also some camp gates but they arn't anything.

Also why play a gamwe you don't like?

See this is the problems with mmorpgs, you always have to play one even if you hate it!

I gave SWG a break, i would like pre CU to come back but i've accepted it's over. I'm not playing anyother mmorpgs and i havn't really since the launch of WOW. Infact i've never really played any mmorpgs for more than a week :P

EVE - on and off 2 years

SWG - quit pre cu, came back on oct 15th and loved it. Then the NGE came and made me sad from what i missed.

PS - a few months

All the rest like WOW,EQ2,DAOC,Horizons etc etc. I played for a short time. Theres nothing left out there to play!

I still like SWG, despite the NGE. In fact, I LIKE the NGE combat system and balance vs PvE a lot better than the CU (it's more like pre-CU).

What I DO NOT like about the NGE are things they could change but wont:

1. Reinstate some of the deleted professions.

2. Bring back skill trees.

3. Make a force sensitive character playable at the outset, but remove Jedi from starter professions.

I miss old SWG but I'm really enjoying DAOC again. Even if SWG went back to the old system I might not re-sub at this point.

Been playing DAoC (free trial) and its pretty good, but not in the same league as SWG.

Also currently trying horizons just for the dragons, but its a little bit rubbish, so once the trial expires, I'm gonna delete it.

Vanguard is my big hope for the future, nd longterm, STO.

Im Playing WOW at the moment, and NO it doesnt compair to pre-CU but that went along time ago and im not waiting for it to come back.

Want to know what is so funny about me playing WOW, until Smed himself mentioned it as a reason for NGE i hadnt realy heard that much about WOW for lack of looking for another game besides SWG.

Ive watched a person do a complete ovehaul of the Half-Life game engine and mod it in less than 5 month on his own while in full-time employment, SOE cant do this with there own engine with a team of 50+ thats just Piss poor, kinda sums up the NGE for me.

Played W0W for 3 months, its a good game just way to cartoonish for my taste.

Also downloaded the 14 day trial of EVE. Its cool but I miss not having a ground game or at least being able to walk around inside a ship or station. Seems like a interesting game but will not continue.

no, I feel like I'm waiting for an alcoholic loved-one to finally hit rock bottom so they can start dealing with reality again.

I've played 3 different MMOs since then. They all had better service and smoother running software and network. But, they didn't have what could truly engage me: the complexity, subtlety, and choices I could make playing pre-NGE SWG.

I wish i could find one I can fully enjoy . I like a game where everything is Player Run , But also includes some sort of cinema flare . Like SWG was at one point , Yet remains so to a lesser extent .

The lack as of now is due to a hurt community . There are hardly any full-time crafters left , The crafting system is still as it has always been minus experimenting . Which does hurt competitive competition , Yet I was giving thought on the subject when something dawned on me .

It may be posible after publish 27 to be on top as a merchant . {RIS and Mando} who ever can jump on this opportunity first on any sever is going to be out ahead again . Think of it as those in WOW farming high end raid dungeons . Those who would be considered power gamers are definitely goin to take advantage of this . Any one who gets a steady stream of these armors is going to be on top that is for sure . To do so would take a skilled merchant not just anyone who decide to try and craft .

I can not get into any other game, I've tried . SO i must think in terms like this to stomach the dead community and continue on . I just hope SOE does something fast or LA for that matter . I dont care who runs SWG , As long as someone is . The only game i see as any type of replacment is darkfall . And i don't even know if that game will even release .

Into my 4th week with EVE, a lot different than other games I tried. Really starting to like it as it seems to be very well thought out. Not for everyone but once you start to understand what's going on you begin to appreciate what it can offer.

Looking forward to checking out Pirates of the Burning Seas when it is released, if they do that one right it could be a real gas.

Of course I will most likely look back on my SWG days as my greatest gaming experience. Even with a pre cu server or transforming the current NGE mess into something playable it would be hard for me to go back again with SOE running it. SOE is a company I no longer trust and I would not support them with my hard earned dollars.
