There seems v to be no shortage on ambitious promises coming from the small dev teams working on the multitude of crowd funded games. My question is: has even a single one delivered on its promises yet?
I was reading the very ambitious goals the star citizen devs have set for their game, and could not help but wonder how realistic their ideas are. .?
From the repopulation to camelot unchained and star citizen, there is no shortage of wild, ambitious, and amazing ideas, but most of these would seem incredibly difficult for even the largest studios to pull off.
How likely is it that any of these studios will be able to deliver a finished, functioning product that will live up to the expectations they have set for themselves?

Elite dangerous will be released tomorrow.
Mmmm, true, but let's see how it's doing n 6 months time. There's an ever-growing trend for game companies to over-promise, over-hype and under-deliver.
There was FTL.
And Wasteland 2 was one of the best RPGs of the year.
Camelot Unchained internal testing is going amazingly well.
Divinity: Original Sin
Trove
These two are the only ones I can think of that were released and turned out to be good games. They were both made by established game studios.
Oh, and Divinity: Original Sin is actually nominated for Game of the Year over at GameSpot.
I guess it really depends on on your measuring stick. It's actually very rare, especially now with Day1 patches, etc. that a game delivers in good, working order. If you feel like you can name one game that delivered on their promises, my ears are wide open.

While there has been some good games coming out of crowdfunding, we haven't seen any mmorpg's being released. Here's a list on a few crowdfunded products.
Trove isn't an indie game... It was developed and published by Trion.

Divinity: Original Sin isn't either. I thought we were talking about all crowd funded games. Trove did a lot of crowd funding using their own website during alpha.
I... I literally just did. In the post you quoted.
