Exploration fun..

I returned to my ESO character earlier this week, he "Bachus the Bard" is a templar that travels teh world of Tamriel at veteran level 2.

withouth a real main story, the veteran zones actually challenge you to explore, explore the nature and the people, because everyone and everything has a story to tell.  To me, playing the veteran zones feels like freely roaming them, sure offcourse i follow the main story quests, but thats not nearly enough xp to get even close to a quarter of the necessary XP...

if you take the time to listen to NPCs and read the note they left behind then the world will come alive around you, combined with the beatifull graphics and the top knotch zonedesign this makes for anvery immersive gaming experience...

This is the reason i returned...

on top of that, i am really enjoying combat, i have a mellee sword and board build, and about everything i do adds selfheals me and  CCs the mobs...   Today i managed to defeat a groupboss while soloing in the root sunder roots dungeon, it was the final boss the bonemonger that only spawns after finishing the mainquest in that dungeon.

I also found out why combat felt so cluncky at release, with skills that failed to trigger when clicked/pushed, it all comes back to the targetting mechanic, if your crosshair is not exactly on a target, many skills fail to trigger, as lomg as your crosshair is on the target, all your targetted skills function flawlesly, sure this takes some skill, espescially since you are constantly moving around your ennemies to prevent them from hitting you...

now i finally found out why the combat felt a little unresponsible i am falling in love with it... Nit having CDs in my vission is a blessing, my eyes are allways on the screen with the action and never destracted by looking at the UI..  And while watching the ennemies, you can react to their actions, making the combat verry reactive and fun again..

no, the game is far from perfect, i would love some mass combat PvE events, and a place to call home, more groupbased PvE....  But nothing that derails from the feeling i have with this game, its the closest thing i played since EQ that actually feels more like a virtuall world then like a game...

i am quite certain that i will keep returning to this game more often...  Its my chosen game for this winter....  If they could only make the world more dynamic,  it would be the best MMO on a golden socket...

Actually i think its time to find a great guild, anyone got suggestions for a friendly grown ups casuall guild, with enough members to stir up things every other night.  I decided to stick with the game for now, there is enough adventures wayting for me behind every corner.  And the future prommises even more goodness.

Playing on europe, i speak dutch, english and german...  But prefer an english language multi cultiral guild...  Oh... And i hail from the daggerfall convenant.

  • I have been on a ESO break since update 5 and will be returning update 6.

Yes, i agree; this game is awesome! And will be even more awesome when the Champion System is in place...oh and the justice system, and imperial city, and spellcrafting...

These days if you are in a MMO and not in a guild you might as well be in a solo game. So guilds are a must!

So true, but sadly in ESO most guilds are anti social, they are there for a single reason, and thats making money for the guildleaders....

I still have to find a single social guild since i returned..   So again if anyone knows a friendly european guild, looking for friendly social players, please send me a pm.
