[General Article] Star Wars: The Old Republic: Shadow of Revan RIP #2 - New Planets

Introducing new environments to explore is a staple of MMORPG expansion packs, and Shadow of Revan does not disappoint. After the prologue missions, the new content kicks off on the relatively obscure planet of Rishi, home to some interesting looking bird folk and a whole lot of pirate business. Bioware reached way back and dipped into the classic trilogy for the second planet (or rather moon), Yavin 4, recognizable to fans as the home base to the Rebellion in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Both areas bring fresh visuals to the game, and each has its own distinctive features. Adding more variety to the game, especially the generally repetitive elder game daily and weekly missions, is a good thing. Are Rishi and Yavin 4 enough to satiate lore-hounds and commendation-addicts alike?

I enjoyed going through the flashpoints and final operation in solo mode as part of the storyline (fighting beside legends in 8-man operation simulation). very nice idea imho.

This gave me another idea of re-doing the whole raiding experience from the start. to be able to go through flashpoints (tactical mode as they call it) with your own crew. in the end you have a crew of 8 anyway.  would build up some knowledge for players to join operations without depressing the veterans so much at their first run :)

I really like Rishi , a lot of freedom to move around , rather than follow a straight path. I was pleased to see the return of taxi rides on yavin iv the most , well apart from one part where it does vanish briefly. I might make yavin iv my new home for many of my characters. At least until/if I lose anymore names with the up and coming changes next year , otherwise I will be out.

    Cheers,

    BadOrb.

it was nice but the hole over all considerable frame rate issues is not just in the 2 new spots its even spread to the rest of the game. I been trying to do a new sever and its been a hit and miss there some times I can get done and get into flash points or even my strong hold or i get in to see the AFK messages. Just wish they fix it but they got other stuff going on but still think of the new players coming in or in my cause old players who ran into this crap and walked away for a bit in hopes of fix to see the same old buggs still cause the same hang up on mission to class or the main plate story line
