New laptop advice please

Hi,

I'm not looking to spend more than £400 and the laptop will only be used for some MS office work and hopefully to play WOW.

I've found these three and was wondering which, if any would be best for the task.

    If i had to pick between the 3 I would go with the 1st one, the HP with a dedicated GPU.

    Any of them will do for office work. If you want to casual game on it then the HP with the AMD dedicated GPU for sure.

    None of the above.  If you want to buy from that site, try this:

    That will offer massively better CPU performance than any of the options you're looking at, and much faster GPU performance than either of the Core i3 laptops, and without the potential discrete switchable graphics problems of the AMD laptop.

    I have an AMD laptop with discrete switchable graphics and have not had any problems with it. Not saying others have not as I have never really looked into the issue.

    My experience with it has been positive overall with no issues that would prevent me from buying another laptop with the same setup.

    Is it switchable or just discrete?  A-core are just discrete GPUs.  If it has a CPU from AMD and a GPU from nVidia (don't think those exist) then it is switching between the two based on games.  The more likely scenario is a system with an Intel CPU (with cheap GPU on the CPU die) and nVidia GPU that it switches between.

    AMD's A-series APUs have integrated graphics.  If it also has a discrete AMD card in a recent laptop, it's probably switching between the two.

    Having discrete switchable graphics doesn't guarantee that you'll have problems with it not switching when you want or some such.  A lot of times, it does work fine.  But having integrated only does guarantee that there won't be any switching problems.
