Hey guys,
I´m looking for a quality MMO that is a enjoyable and fun experience for me and my friends.
Here are the points that I´m looking for:
-Very good to play in a group or with friends
-Should not be too old(max. 4 years)
-A big, healthy community needs to be there
-A good endgame, with options for casual and hardcore games
-Would be cool if the game contains an epic and interesting story
If played Guild Wars 2(Stopped because of the bad endgame) and World of Warcraft so far.
Both where decent games imo, but they had there flaws which made me stop playing them.
So games that I´ve researched so far are FF XIV, Teso, SWTOR, Rift.
I hope that you can tell me what you know about those games or about the games that fit my description.
Thanks

TSW is a candidate for sure; good missions with a decent degree of complexity.
I would suggest checking out LotR, even though it is 7 years since it launched development restarted when WarnerBros took over Turbine and has only just been put on hold. Huge amount of content as a result. A well rounded vintage wine now - and easy to sample.
ESO may feel very solo orientated (and still "teething" );
Rift has run into a lot of flax for recent changes (P2W feel);
SWTOR, I suspect will feel empty in many ways unfinished and is also solo orientated;
FF XIV - yep it has finished teething!
And of course there is WoW but some zones look "old".
Damn I love Germany! Lauf looks gorgeous!
I would suggest SWToR. Good story and easy to play with friends.
FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!
You wont find a better game for a few friends than ESO. That's what it's set up for. From level 1-cap there are hundreds of public dungeons and a bunch of instances. Plus there is Cyrodiil, nothing else like it in the industry. 4 low level friends questing in Cyrodiil and doing public dungeons would be awesome. All of it wrapped up in ESO lore.
I'd pick Rift from those choices any time. Best character creation with the souls/roots/skill trees.. can really play around and go to town. Most features: Rifts, World Events, Raids, Dungeons, Housing System, Mini Dungeons, All kinds of PvP.. just tons of things to do and collect. Completely free without hindering your experience if you want it to be.
If you still like games similar to WoW it should be the first choice.
There are three games I keep going back to even after playing them all extensively; WoW, GW2 and Rift.. you're only missing one.
Herald of innovation, Vanquisher of the old! - Awake a few hours almost everyday!
i would say it would suit you, tho i dont know what made you stop playing wow and gw2
I can vouch for two MMOs I have played recently and grouped with other Players in.
I would NOT check out LotRO as Turbine as progressively made grouping more difficult the higher in level you get. In Rohan for instance my Wife and I and our Friends spend more time out of group than in while we are advancing the quests. Most of the quests are made only for solo players (too many Instances in questing). Great for Story, bad for grouping. Ironically LotRO years ago was great for grouping. Not any more.
I would check out SW:TOR as I have found it to be a good MMO for grouping in my experience. My Daughter and I are playing this MMO and grouping often and we are not finding any of the problems so far in SWTOR that my Wife and I have had in LotRO. You don't have to drop out of group even to do a Class Story quest... just have all members of group go to Preferences > Social and select to Allow sharing of quest Instances (I can't exactly remember the wording of the option, it is at top of Preferences > Social Panel).
I just grouped with and accompanied my Daughter's new Sith character today while she did her Class Story quests on Korriban... no problems at all. A very nice grouping experience from the stand point of ease of grouping and remaining in a group regardless of what content we wanted or needed to do.
K Thank you for the answers. You can recommend me some more games.
What made my stop playing gw2 as main mmo is the lack of progression and of challenging content for me and my friends.
So I ask myself if FF xiv does good in those points?
well it depends on how much you play - some hardcore players say it doesnt have enough content, but most of the people i know (me included) didnt see the end by far, with how fast (imo) they release new (mostly raid) content
I'll also throw in my support for SWTOR.
It has some great storylines, including unique ones for each class (the class stories) and plenty of teaming opportunities.
If you play it with at least one other person you should be able to do all the content while leveling, ranging from heroic missions to flashpoints without having to rely on PuGs, since each of you gets companions to choose from. All of which have their own personalities and stories. (A full team is 4 people, or two people and two companions, since you can both have one active at a time)
It also meets your age criteria, and gets updated constantly. (The latest expansion just released earlier this month)
And besides, it's free - so if you don't like it after all, nothing lost besides the time it took to download and install the game.
The Secret World is definitely one to look into as well if you enjoy an epic storyline, although I found it to be less team friendly, since each time you have to enter an instance you'll have to leave the team and do it separately, which gets annoying when you're running duo characters with a friend. (or you're playing with a group of friends)
There's also a fair amount of these instances, since that's where the majority of interesting story developments take place. A great MMO that I'd definitely recommend checking out, but more as a solo experience (until endgame at least).

Agree here. TSW is great, but leveling in group can be annoying. While leveling in group in SWTOR can be hilariously funny if the group has both dark side and Light side folks. Also, NPCs recognize that you are in group and they react differently than if you would solo. Really nice accent here. I love leveling duo in SWTOR as you can do all planet quests including heroics. Just don't click on some randomly highlighted stuff on some planets /grin as you would have definnitely your a.... spanked (damn you Taris!!!!!!)
OK... admit guys... how many of you did it!!!!! /grin

I survived each attempt too. Thanks to my highly developed fight or FLEE instincts!
And also because my companions are so tasty. (Poor things!) >.>
