Been away for a long time, what changed?

I left this game before craglorn came, I left because of the AoE caps bullshit, I have 1.3k hours on GW2 and I can't play another zerg fest AoE spam, did they change or fix something about that or even actually said WHY they had AoE caps? Hows the rest of pvp? It was pretty shitty and unbalanced when I left.

Did they fix the horrible optimization issues? Like stuck forever on loading screen, walls not loading properly, game lagging a lot after some time inside cyrodiil? Did they change that fucking cowards skill bolt escape that made sorcs impossible to catch up unless specifically built for speed?

Did they fix the guilds and trading? That shit was horribly clunky. What about culling? Still pretty much a solo game on PVE? Anything else new on pve besides craglorn? I enjoyed the class roles but tanking was pretty much useless and people could go withouth it and clear it faster by going mad dps and aoe

    Nothing changed.

Wait until Update 6 somewhere in February / March. Things will be very different, don't know for the better or worse, but at least it's a change lol...

Played Prereleas was great game  was      in 30 day vet 12 with all lore explored there were bugs and some flows ....... than  I thought I'm done  with game and sold account for 200$ on player auction . yesterday it  bought again well all great 0 bugs new  guld trade system realy like it . many quest were   improved fixed .  Some public dungeons as well were improved now are bigger . going to get to 50 and will resubscribe when vet lvl will be removed . Almost lost connection to world first time so not going through vet levels again )))...   dye system is very cool . IDk about PvP yet . Also new ligthing revamp is great .

In future I want to see Spell craft  Morrowind New class or Brotherhood and so on .

Also I dream to see Neverwinter Quest creation tool in ESo   it would be amazing crap .

They added a Dye system and there are less game breaking bugs. Other than that its the same game it was before with a great experience 1-50 and then nothing of value after. I knew this going in when I decided to come back but wasted $15 to see for myself anyway.

I like the Elder Scrolls world but this game seems to be missing something that makes it feel less like an Elder Scrolls game. I will probably test the game again in the summer but for now I would guess that since the console launch seems to be a long ways off even the Developers feel its far from ready as well.

Fans of the game are always claiming this game will be awesome in the "Next" patch but I think when it releases for consoles that will be a good time to come back as it should have all it should have had at launch.

    Playing- Guild Wars 2, SWTOR
SWTOR Referral Link Get a free Server Transfer and lots of other free stuff for your SWTOR account! Works for both new and previous players.

Yeah man there were a lot of bugs at launch. Not any more. There never was culling. There was lag in Cyrodiil because 1000 people there were too many. They lowered the cap to about 750. ESO has always had awesome fps optimization except for 2 weeks during 1.2. 60 fps on good comps. Guild traders all over., booming economy. Stamina builds are good now. Bolt escape was nerfed months ago. New trails scaling dungeons ect.

Yeah you must have left the first month ;)

    ^^^^^This.

    • If it was a specific thing that caused you to leave then the patch notes will tell you whether it has been fixed / changed.
    • If it was an "overall experience" type thing however then "nothing" is probably an appropriate answer.
7 years to develop it has only been 8 months since launch. Changes have been made, more are in the pipeline and at some point the cumulative change will merit an affirmative answer.  At the moment though it is still "vanilla" ESO.

I think this sums it up perfectly, the game has arived where it should have been at release....  Its a very fun place, both in PvE as in PvP.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Yes, I left the first month because of the AoE caps, I had a helluva fun during the betas and the first days of launch on pvp, thne they announced the AoE caps where there and they were fixing the dk abilities that didn't had aoe cap and where the only thing preventing zerg stacking, after that I started seeing the first guild groups running exactly like in GW2, so I just said fucki it and never looked back.

Theres many things that could have changed and be way easier to ask someone what that meant instead of reading long patch notes, sometimes they would have en effect only people playing would notice, also, things like general state of the game can't be understood solely from patch notes.

FYI they will be raising the AoE damage  cap to 60 in the next iteration (and leaving the AoE healing cap at 6), with reduced damage for targets above 6.  This will help with the zergball problems in PvP.

WHAT? Pretty sure that was never the case unless you are talking about low level dungeons.
