What are you going to do and say when Black Desert comes out (which is an identical game to AA but done 100 times better on every level) and isnt run by a bunch of money grubbing retards who couldnt code their way out of a paper bag?

AA is a poor mans black desert run by idiots.

Again not hyping Black desert but its so easy a comparison to make you cant help but make it. The ONLY way Black Desert doesnt blow AA out of the water on every single level is if Daum (or whatever thyre going to be called ) hires Hartsman or Brad McQuaid to run their western headquarters.

I fire up this game just for PKing and lulz . I may continue to do that even if I have a primary MMO. AA is a good back up MMO.

ArcheAge was created in right directing of what a mmorpg should be, at least for me.

If more games come out in this line and improve (theres alot to improve) its a good thing. I dont know if BD is that case, the game is not out yet, alpha, betas dont count anymore, only after a game release i can see if its good or not.

Release it and then i build my opinion, long time i stop saying "game X" not out yet is better then "game Y" allready released.

Well the easy answer to that is, I'm doing my due diligence in turning as many people away from this game as I can before they waste their time (and possibly their money).  Considered it my good deed which I do on a daily basis and I feel good about it :)  After Feb, there will be no need anymore as the player base will be nearly dried up.

Even most of the white knights over on the AA forums have either been banned or have finally come to their senses.  I know because I've been keeping tabs on them and called each and every one of them out after I told them they'd change their ways.  Again, feels good to prove them wrong :)

Despite what White Knights want to believe, people do care what others think.  Anyone who does their due diligence before purchasing a game looks up the user reviews because they are all that matter.  Get as many different reviews as possible before making a decision.  It is what it is.

ROFL, I"m no AA fan, but do you really believe you're turning anyone away from trying this game out? Especially after a post like this? User reviews don't matter because their written by folks like you who have an agenda.

MMOs are hard. People like AA because it is slightly different. It isnt straight up theme park. But it isnt sand box either. There are things you do and will want to do and they all involve doing the same thing. So its a 'disguised' themepark. Want your 50 or so glda stars? Well you MUST do the quest line, same quest line no matter what class you make, you have one for east and one for west. Want more gilda stars? Then you have to grind dailies, same exact dailies every day (with the exception of what types of craft materials you have to turn in). Thats not what I would call sand box. its a straight up grind fest. You can of course run trade packs for gilda also. Which if youre a leader of a guild who has people dumb enough to give him everything is an easy way to go. But not everyone is  that lucky.

The one interesting aspect is the growing of plants and animals, but its done half assed and doesnt have a lot of thought put into it. breeding is totally RNG and makes little to no sense. Lotro used to have cross breeding of pipeweed (they took it out) but those things should be in any game looking to get away from tradition linear thinking. The housing aspect of AA is retraded. Houses are all the same and basically useless, you have them to have the land and mostly for the port back. I never saw anyone standing around their houses or even decorating it beyond a few things here or there. Certainly nothing like RIFT dimension systems has. That system probably wouldnt work in a non instanced setting but you could combine the two. Or have multiple options.

Problem is MMOs for some reason cost ridiculous amounts of money to make. Or at least that is what everyone wants you to believe, and looking at kickstarters and crow funding it gets even more ridiculous. Not sure why or how but they want us to think that anyway.

So ultimately there will never ever be a 'perfect' MMO made, there probably wont ever be another very good one made. Simply because they cost too much to make and they dont generate the income they need to to make the initial investment worth the gamble.

When a guy can go make some piece of shit like Mine craft for next to nothing and sell it for a couple billion whio is going to keep p making MMOs spending millions and if your lucky you make your money back?

But the real answer to all of it is a 3D sim with unreal graphics, and PvP and Rp crap. But like I said those wont ever get made in an MMO platform because for whatever reason theyre too expensive or the engine doesnt exist that will support one.

I love it how you say  you "MUST" grind dailies and then mention in following sentence then you can also do trade runs for gildas.  No you DON't need to be guild leader for them. You can run them all by yourself.

So what we have here just for the one item gilda stars:

    We have    A)  Quests

                              1)  Quests requiring crafting

                               2)  Quests requiring delivery

                               3)  Quests require running Instance

                               4)  quest require open world raid PvE

                        B)  Trade runs

                                 a) intercontinental  for 1 gilda

                                  b)  Pirate island for 4 gilda

                          C) Not want doing any of this ? Buy the items bought by Gilda ... with gold !

To me thats many options involving different playstyles and the best way being that together with other people in a guild shows just that Archeage captures the spirit of MMORPG even better.

Have seen many houses with people investing much time into decorating them, their custome made flag shows other peeps your guild colours for example. You have them for them to have a home, to use advanced crafting stations in them and to store thuings in them also owning the land surronding them. They come in diferent sizes and different styles and is OPEN WORLD housing with region and area and location (even climate) impacting the value of the house and  people you like can enter them and use them too.

Was about to say the same thing regarding gilda.  There are multiple ways to do many things in the game, and you're aren't required to do any of them.  You can circumvent that grind and earn gold to buy the designs and items other players purchased with gildas.

AA was a horrible disappointment for me, but I think sandbox gamers need to get off this crusade to disqualify AA as being a sandbox game.  Its more sandbox than just about any sandbox pvp game to date, even with the crappy (yet, OPTIONAL) linear quest line and hub system that provided little more than a tutorial for the first few days of gameplay.

Once you guys understand that even a sandbox game can crash and burn, maybe you can focus on the real problems that plagued AA and help get the word out so developers in the future don't make the same mistake.
