question about the classes

volkhartvolkhart Member Posts: 2

I started a human fighter, and I am thinking about becoming a pally, and what I want to know.. are they GIMPED like they are in EQ and WoW, or are they decent at DPS, tanking and their other skills like healing?

or am I just better off doing another class ? Like Dark blade(?) I can't remember what the other class besides warrior was.. and warriors are kind of boring to me..

Palidans are good, but in no way can they deal any real damage. A Shillien Knight is probally the favorite 'tank' in the game. If you are gonna go human, I would just go Dark Avenger instead of Pally, you get a cool panther and some steal life skills....but really it is all up to how you wanna play. But Palidans are kinda rare because they aren't as good as some other classes in dealing damage, but they are pretty good for recieveing it.

I wouldnt reccomend the pali. I know a couple of them, and they ended up making a 2nd account and having to drag some type of Mage around with them on a second box so that they can do damage lol

Most "Main" Tanks end up being an SK or a Dark Avenger, like Jukan said.

The other classes you have open to you right now

Gladiator(Pin-Point Damage, lots of it),Warlord (AOE),Dark Avenger(Tank, Good Drain, Panther Summon)

BTW "Dark Blade" is a Blade Dancer in game. Dual Sword semi-support class.

If you're looking for a tank that can deal a little damage, I'd go for the Shillien Knight (Dark Elf) or the Dark Avenger (Human).  The SK has life drain abilities that help you keep your HP up as you fight...I've tanked for groups in white or yellow con dungeons with no healer.  The Dark Avenger gets a really cool panther summon, but it costs crystals and EXP.

Paladins are often thought of as "gimped", but truth is, it's just one of the most area-dependant classes.  If you aren't hunting undead, yeah, you're gimped...but NCSoft has been adding more areas with undead monsters and smart Paladins should be just fine.

hi, i've been interested in l2 for awhile b/c of the graphics etc and haven't been able to run it yet b/c of an old pc. I finally built a new one and was wondering about the playability of healers in game, specificly if they are very group dependant.
