I've been with the MMORPG world since 2000 with Ultima Online. Since then, I have been to many many different MMORPG's and just havn't found anything satified at all. Right now, I'm currently playing WoW (only decent thing I can find so far) but have been getting extremely bored with the game. I want a game with a large seamless vas world that I can explore and be in awe by. I want to hunt and to group with more mature people that WoW offers. Is DAoC for me? Right now I'm downloading the trial and the graphic upgrade to see what this game is made of.

Thanks in advance.

DAOC is not a seamless world. Instead, for the most part, you have large seemless chunks.

For example, all of the outside of the original game (for each realm) is a large chunk. The first expansion is a large chunk. The third expansion is a very large chunk. You will zone into each other of those.

You will zone for the Catacombs zones. You will also zone when going into the capital, a dungeon, an instance, or RvR areas. The world, however, is huge.

The people are certainly more mature than your average WoW player. As a side note, if you play on the Classic servers, do not judge the games population based on the starter guild you will be in. Sometimes the people on there are not your typical player.

You'll love DAOC, lots of old UO players to be found here. One word of advice, judging from your description I would opt for the normal servers, Trials of Atlantis is so much fun too explore, it be a waste to miss out on that one.

    Cheers!

I came from WoW recently myself, really enjoyed it but got bored with the end game after hitting 60 and repeating the same Instances over and over again.

Tried EQ2 for a couple of months but quickly got bored of that, too sterile a feel for me just found the game dull.

DAoC on the other hand has been great fun.I really like PvE content so I didn't think DAoC would really suit me having heard so much about its RvR as being what the game is all about.
But the PvE content has been as much fun as WoW's has,and the world so far has been a very interesting place to explore.I am looking forward to seeing the Trials of Atlantis, well done zones for a PvE player I am told by many.

I have only been playing for over a month so if you start a toon on Merlin on the Midgard side look up Warfran the Thane or Warmarc the Warrior.

I just started my 14 day free trial today, if I like the game I will buy the Epic version with all the expansions.... is there anything I should know as a new player?

Like are there any gimped pvp classes?
What is the difference in the rules for a PVP server and normal server?

    Anything else?

    Thanks.

Welcome to DAOC to both of you.

As far as the PvP classes go. You'd get an answer but some of the classes are being updated so, might change shortly, depends on what kind if PvP u like
